Beats me, but just for food for thought, arent all PCs' or laptops' USB port are standardly rated to output the correct power to charge external devises? Therefore USB wallplug chargers are actually mimicking what the PC's are doing as far as charging devices is concerned.
I may be wrong about this so any school of thoughts on this subject to clear up our misunderstanding could help us decide if we should get these original USB charges for good.

Bro, the QC and quality made is different between factory.

For PC/laptop USB and branded USB wall plug sure will have similar voltage (5V), just different in power output (PC only have 100mA for each port, that why really slow to charge) and for sure the QC is really good.

Cheap USB charger (RM10) will not have a good QC quality. Some will have to much voltage leak. You can test using multimeter and testpen. That what I do when bought a cheap charger.

I got 2 USB wallplug from same brand. One is working fine. The another I stop using it after few months, I feel there is some shocking current when touch the usb port metal. When test using the test pen, I got a light... (the test pen only can detect 100V - 250V )

On another note nordingh, i presume since we are on the Sony topic, you do own a Sony DAP ie one of these S6xx or S7xx?

I'm asking bcos my original IEM earphones (model NC020) cable sleeve has hardened and the plastic sleeve breaks when folded. This happens 4 inches along the wire from the earphones, both sides.
I've only had it for 1 mth and this is happening.
Gosh, and speaking about getting Branded and Quality products, i am very saddened by this and worst of all of this coming from SONY itself!

Yes, I have S739F and E438F, few Sony earphone and headphone including 2 that come with S739. I think I have about 6-7 from Sony (lost count already).

So far all my Sony earphone and headphone are OK, not harden even use for more than 5 - 6 years.

I guess yours one already expose to some moisture than can't handle by the plastic. Same thing happen to my Sony Ericsson original USB cable.

Does anyone here use thier Sony S7xx to audio line-out? I believe this feature is crippled. Even Ipods audio line-out is not real line-out as some people have claimed that it does!

Will i need extra devices to produce REAL audio line-out?

Use BCR-NWU3 or BCR-NWU5 which got audio out port. But need to have attachments (adapter that hold the player), which is come with retails package only.

You need to have the attachments to use with the cradle and that not sold separately.

Ya, its very sad. Especially when Malaysia makes these Sony DAP for Japan. And the Americans gets everything latest, well almost!

I went to Sony KLCC last night and ask them about the cradle. To bad, out of stock and there will be no new stock coming in. Right now only have the Digital Media Port for use with own Sony HIFI. No analog audio output for this model.

The salesman show me the new Walkman NWZ-X1050, ask me to buy. I just say 'I have 3 now (while pointing to each model), you still sell here but I cannot get the accessory, then no point for me to buy a new one'. The salesman just keep quiet, cannot say anything.

(Actually, I want to say, 'you sell to high, I can get cheaper online' but tak sampai hati).

Sorry, I fall asleep early last night around 10pm after back from Sony. While waiting for my PC to boot up, I start to hibernate until morning.
