spaying is safe or not.. takut wooooo...
*
Certain vets are rabbit savvy and they are good at spaying rabbits. There are a few forumers here who have ample of experience with spayed/neutered rabbits. They can give sound advice. General spay/neuter is a safe procedure but there are of course some risk that will be involved. Just like human undergoing a surgery under GA.

Some of the benefits of spaying/neuter also include less marking with poo, less aggressive & able to bond with another rabbit. More benefits compared to dogs.

My pair of rabbits gave birth the 3rd time. This time 5 rabbits. However I am curious about their health.

Before this, I always sell all my rabbits, and only kept one before, but it died after couple of months, I am not sure why. It died suddenly one day, and i found out that the side of the body's fur drop off, became bald.

Therefore, would like to seek for advice that how to actually properly take care of baby rabbits.

p/s: About the rabbits that was sold, never had anyone tell me that the rabbits could not survive. Until today, still sad that it died, it is a little cute black rabbit... ;(

@snoopy92, you need to spend a lot of time to make sure your current bunny bond with the new bunny... because when you introduce new member to the family then the rank will be an issue. Your current bunny might want to dominate your new bunny to show that he/she is in-charge... you as owner will need to make sure the bonding process is successful... at first slowly introduce them in a different cage then only let your current bunny out to get to know the new bunny in the cage from outside and vice versa... then slowly put closer and closer until they in the same play area where you watch them like a hawk for some time... when they fight you have to stop it, and you have to start the bonding again... is sounds hard but in fact it will be statisfying if you have achieve what you want.... is your current bunny spayed? are you planning to spay them both if not?

you can find much more information in the first page... smile.gif

Lionhead is a fairly new breed. IT is still being develop as we speak. So, if you are able to produce rabbits with manes you can slowly develop to achieve the desired standard. If you have that intention, it is a good start. Breeding with an objective to achieve a targeted standard is good breeding practice compared to breeding just out of curiosity. You must know what genes your breeding stocks have in order for you to produce the right thing. But it is a good start there producing those manes....
