I believe Furminator is a comb that effectively get rid of loose fur. I dun think it is battery operated or anything. Just a comb. You can order online through Pettssion.com.sg if i spelled that correctly.

QUOTE(nicoty_yne @ Jun 19 2008, 01:05 PM)
YUP i saw in Carrefour.. but it is assemble as multipurpose rack... later i'll contact the cage supplier.. let me see if they can get those grid panels..

Added on June 19, 2008, 1:07 pm11Jan, where did u get ur furminator? If i'm not mistaken, u said u bought them from Singapore, isnt it? I went to singapore? Or u shop via online? i found in Ebay.. but not sure it i buy in ebay, the price will be more expensive then RM120 or not... Plus, i dunno how this ebay thing works.. just put my bid on that furminator and see the progress.

Added on June 19, 2008, 1:10 pmAnd a quick question.. have u tried the furminator? does it make any noise or it works like a normal comb, except it has the 'teeth' to remove the unwanted hair? I want to try it to Micky.. she has 2inches length wool-type fur.

Don't mean to sound rude but I do not think Rabbits have feathers. Only birds do. IF you are referring to the "hair" it is called FUR.

Hi There,

I have never seen a butterfly rabbit before. There is no such breed. But the term butterfly may be applied to the pattern of the rabbit's color.

As for living with a rabbit at home, you can always search it out or go to House Rabbit Society. I believe that first thing to do now is to litter train your bunny.

Good luck.

QUOTE(gilz.hippy @ Jun 24 2008, 05:23 PM)

They won't starve them self, you just leave pellet there and give sometime, they will eat. Giving unlimited of timothy hay is good sign your rabbit keep on eating the hay. Make sure water is available and easy to drink from the bottle. smile.gif

Previously, I spent a lot of time cleaning my rabbits' cages. I found that I spend more time cleaning than spending quality time with them. I was using litter tray and woody pet so everyday clean until i want to MATI. So I came out with this idea of having the waste wash down into the PIPE. So i just have 1 central collection point to sieve through the poo from the pee. And the poo i use as fertilizers.

QUOTE(bebee @ Jun 25 2008, 11:49 PM)
sangterap,

when u clean the bunny poo is it hard? :sweat; how do u clean it?

There is this advertisement on the radio station that encourages spaying/neutering. I believe it is a very good advertisement about people wanting to have their pets experience the joy or motherhood and all of the HOODS.

Rabbit do not need to get MARRIED and that is for sure. As for cancer. Not every human get cancer but the trend is cancer is getting very common.

Let's do some practical weighing here.

Let's just say that a rabbit will 100% get cancer if not "married". So let's think logically. Just because you fear the rabbit will get cancer you go and breed it. Don't you think that the AVERAGE 6 babies will also get cancer and their new owner like you will be scampering for help just like what you are doing?

Another scenario, let's just say not 100% get cancer and you go ahead with breeding. Are you sure that the AVERAGE 6 babies will get good homes?

1 very important thing that I always emphasize on breeding is, you must establish a VERY VERY good reason for doing so. You must make sure that genetically, there are no problem with your rabbit so that you do not pass down problems to the next generation. Coz you will be passing the next generation to someone else and if you pass good stuff, then good for everyone but if you pass bad stuff, it is like passing rubbish to a friend. Do you like your friend passing rubbish to you?

Another VERY VERY important point that I need to stress. You must make sure you want to improve an animal further then only think about breeding. Just breeding buta tuli is not a good idea because it comes back to the same point as above. What do you want to pass on into the world. Rabbit have no brains like humans that can think rationally. Their instinct drives them. So now, my question is, are you allowing your human rational drive your actions or you allow your rabbit's instinct drive you as a human?

We all have to start thinking with our good brains already. We get this question over and over again and as usual, we answer over and over again. But the catch is, POP, there goes another "accidental" breeding...

QUOTE(El Sol @ Jun 26 2008, 11:58 PM)
is it a bad idea to breed my rabbit??

from what I read, if the female rabbit not married she will get cancer is it? I think mine is female..<--I think..not sure yet..

I dun want to spray/neuture them..I think its cruel..

how arh?

That is the problem. A lot of breeders out there breed unethically just for the sake for Money.

Why is spaying/neutering a trick? Spaying/Neutering is the practice of a responsible pet owner. It has got nothing to do with breeders. The owners decide to neuter out of responsibility sake. Spaying/neutering also alter your rabbit's behavior FOR GOOD. People will not end up throwing away their rabbit because their rabbit SPRAY pee at them, mark territory, being aggressive and ETC.

At the end of the day everyone decides for themselves. What I mentioned above was just my opinion why you SHOULD and SHOULD NOT breed. My main point is, because there are already so many irresponsible breeders, let's not add on to it.

I know some may see me as a breeder that does not encourage others to breed. Let me just put it straight. My stand is that I breed for many reasons other than $$$$. My main objective of breeding is to improve the breed that I like so that one day (really hoping hard) that we have better quality rabbits in the market.

One thing I strongly emphasize is that the main criteria one should breed is when they want to improve their rabbits (normally for purebreds).

And I know I may sound bias only allowing purebreds to breed but it should really be that way if we want to improve things. But I guess not everyone share the same opinion so it is alright. I have nothing against the local/mixed breed. They make great PETS and pets normally are not used for breeding.

Don't worry being a newbie and asking questions, everyone here is willing to give their opinion. That is what a forum is for. I am just frustrated sometimes people just like spoon feeding coming here without doing their research (not referring to you).

I just hope you make the right decisions.

QUOTE(El Sol @ Jun 27 2008, 02:35 AM)
@above
if what u say is right, why ppl allow those breeders who sell rabbit to breed their rabbit? aren't they passing the bad genes as well??

I mean...If I breed and sell my rabbit..is that OK? <-- for ur info..I'm not planning to sell rabbit

and if I breed and give my babies to my friends for free..that's not OK?

I dun see the logic there..

IMHO..

I think that the trend of encouraging spaying/neutering was a trick by those breeder who sell rabbit(Marketing trick)..<--that's what I think..

CMIIW

and sorry to make u explain so long to Newbie like me..
