QUOTE(chanws8 @ May 26 2009, 01:29 AM) Ur 9800gtx can even support 3-SLi...Btw, what processor u are using? Cheers for the tip. Currently running P Core2Duo 2.13Ghz. PSU is CM 450w real power (think maybe this would be a factor too). Thanx again for the reply, appreciate the advice

@Odinn, you can try going for 790i, 780i or 750i chipset motherboards if you wanna go for 3-way sli as mentioned, then go for 780/790 series chipset. This post has been edited by dlwl: May 26 2009, 01:51 AM

Cheers again U better think n plan properly whether u want to go up to SLI only or Tri SLI. Coz if u only need SLI then better get an Intel X58 mobo since u'll need a cpu upgrade anyway so might as well buy new mobo, new quad core n some DDR3. Or u can just get a cheap SLI mobo and a new PSU for a budget upgrade. If u intend to go Tri SLi then u will hafta get an Nvidia mobo. From what I see, Tri SLi is gonna cost u a big bomb coz u dont have the CPU, mobo n 1200W PSU to support it. Include the cost of 3x GTX n it's gonna be a nuclear bomb budget

Sifus.. I need to ask something on my friends behalf. He is planning to SLI but afraid about the temp problem for Dual card configuration. My friend is planning on to SLI GTX 285.
So, I understand the fact that Nvidia runs cooler than ATI cards, but I don't have any idea about the temp for the SLI configuration.
1) What is the normal load temp for 2 GTX 285s?
2) Is it necessary to fix both cards with third party cooler?
3) My friend is using DFI LP X58 mobo. let say that he fix both card with 3rd party cooler and due to the space problem he fix the 1st card in the 1st slot, and the second card on the 3rd slot. (I'm not sure whether the 2nd card can be fixed in the 2nd slot or not)Is it possible to connect the SLI bridge with such distance between those cards?
So, can anybody help me figure out this problem.

If the bridge can onli accomodate 1st and 2nd slot, then that's the onli configuration available....

1) I think it'll be in a quite a distance. So problem one solved. 2) Yes, my friend is planning to OC his cards. 3) Is there any long SLI bridge available. Do you know anybody selling it. Please let me know. Thanks~

I'm only planning to go SLI, so I'm now weighing my options: 1. Save up for another month and get new SLI mobo, psu, cpu, ram and a 2nd gtx 2. Get a SLI mobo only (with option for future cpu upgrade) and new psu. Short term, #2 looks the more realistic of the two options. See how long I can hold onto my budget Cheers again

well if you really can't hold onto your budget, then option 2 is more realistic, as you have mentioned. as for option 1, depends how long you save up, who knows prices might come down due to new stuff coming up. so you might be able to save a bit from there

QUOTE(avenger @ May 27 2009, 03:32 AM) anyone here got an idea? The FSP 300w supplementary PSU is useless, very low amps. You're better off buying a proper big PSU. 750-800W should be enough for 8800GT SLI. I'm using a Silverstone Olympia 1000W for my 8800GT SLI rig but u can check with Nvidia SLIzone site for recommended PSUs with minimum requirements. Mine is overkill for 8800GT SLI but then I always go overboard with my stuff anyways.

Hello to all. I recently bought a GTS250 card and thinking about SLi-ing it (if there's such a word ). I was wondering whether my current PSU which is a Strider 560W is capable of handling it or should I upgrade my PSU? If so, what type of PSU would you guys recommend? Thanx in advance.
