QUOTE(dlwl @ Oct 8 2008, 01:21 AM) so basically if i only run on 17" or 19" widescreen sli can be said close to useless? i'm having a sli board now, but never make use of sli so far.. Not to say useless... More like u dun feel the improvement that much.... Just boost a bit onli.... Me too.... I also long time din use SLI already coz graphics cards are too expensive to buy and it keeps on changing very frequently.... So now, I'm just waiting for my rig to be fitted with the new parts I bought and c how much my Q6600 can OC.... For now, I think I will be changing chasis liao.... Who wants my chasis??? Perfect for WC coz lots of space....

QUOTE(evilme @ Oct 21 2008, 11:45 AM) i just wondering, if interest to 9800gx2 (quad sli), can my CM 850w modular psu handle the monster ... I believe there's no problem with ur PSU.... But for me, I rather go for 2x GTX 280s instead of 2x 9800GX2..... The performance on the GTX 280 is much much better than the 9800GX2..... My opinion anyway.... But if u wanna try, then why not??

QUOTE(evilme @ Oct 21 2008, 12:34 PM) the price for gtx 280 ... the cheapest i can get in spore is 1450 .... witfout warranty ... in msia 9800gx2 only cost 1200 wif warranty ... price does matter ... hai ... To me, the extra RM250 is really a minor issue.... unless it's like RM500 and above, then it's not worth it.... Just my opinion anyway.... But the 9800GX2 is not bad in performance... It's just that a lot of ppl are complaining about micro stuttering on these cards.... another issue is the FPS fluctuation is very very high.... So, to me, the additional RM250 will keep me more than happy for my rig's performance.... Btw, quad sli drivers aren't that good for now so I will stick to SLI.... Rm1450 is not a bad price for a GTX280.... Maybe u can search in the forums for a cheaper price.... I saw Leadtek GTX280 costs about RM13xx without Razer keyboard.....

QUOTE(VT-Ten @ Oct 23 2008, 09:58 AM) i wanted to go for quad sli initially. but there's really no gain for me running on 22" monitor. dropped that idea after reading the site. IIRC, some forummer bought 2 9800GX2 and regretted. sold it off thereafter. To me, Quad SLi is a waste of money bcos of the drivers.... Plus, microstuttering on this card aint a joke.... Most ppl who bought this card in the end changed to GTX280....

QUOTE(hermit23 @ Nov 29 2008, 03:08 AM) For ur earlier post, yes i would say ur psu is too low for ur setup, it'll stress ur psu too much, heat-up etc, and in ur case its not enough juice. Get true power >550 at least, 600> best, ive used CM Real Power 550 for my Sli with 2 oc-ed 88gt's n oced proc, runs fine . . . though its a bit too much for the psu coz of ocing. Now im using CM 850 for my gtx260+ . . . single though, not sure if its sufficient for Sli. ur 850W will be fine to SLI gtx260 unless u r talking about Tri-SLI then it is a different story.... Added on December 1, 2008, 9:38 amQUOTE(Eyern @ Nov 30 2008, 09:12 PM) 1000W too much for me bro. I'm not planning to upgrade my gc yet huhu. Bro, if u have dual GTX260.. u also u need a bigger case . Yeah.. probably insufficient power. I was thinking about what you guys said.. getting CM Real Power 650W (Standard) or CM Real Power 620W (Modular)? Time to upgrade psu pulak Just get a 750W PSU.... PSU nowadays are bloody cheap.... And yes, the power supply that u need to power 8800GT SLI is at least 600W and above.... This post has been edited by Aura: Dec 1 2008, 09:38 AM

QUOTE(Mavrix @ Dec 30 2008, 09:42 PM) A Q here... Has any1 here put another cheap GC just for running physx?? For example: 2 8800gt SLI connected via sli bridge, and one more cheap 8 series GC to run physx calculation.. I plan to make it work like this.. I dun think this will work.... I remembered looking back at the NVIDIA website not long ago and it stated there that if u hav 1 GC, then u can add in another card for physx calculation.... If u r using SLI, then u won't be able to do this..... Check here for more info -> http://www.slizone.com/object/sli_cuda_learn.htmlHope it helps...

Added on January 2, 2009, 11:13 amQUOTE(subrok007 @ Jan 1 2009, 09:53 PM) i think might be history... cos GTX295 are design in SLI meaning that once u do SLI in GTX295 then it bcome quad SLI... GTX295 not duo core...but all in duo.. But I can't c the success for quad SLI for now just by looking back at the failures of dual PCB cards..... Maybe in the future but not for now.....
