Yeah, i've let go all my FS earlier. Friday i off, nothing 2day so i go look for FS. Caught oneteeth and a few other FS from the place i let go my FS near my housing area. tongue.gif
I feel some of the FS tat i caught are Kelapa Sawit FS base on their average-small size + fighting stye partial light chop.

Direct chop
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rluppqHVBqU

Triple chop attack
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muS8fioMxtE

Mindstorm, last time u said Bronze and Whiteleg cant fight already... now Bronze is a fierce chop? Now become healthy and strong back?

I feel some of the FS tat going to become fierce chop will show symptoms like.. kecut, weak legs, less appetite etcs.
If the FS able to survive through the transition process, the FS will become strong and fierce chop FS.
Chaos still a weak chop..not fully converted to fierce chop yet i think.

So how many male FS u still have?
Your Bronze is quite big.

I only have Oneteeth now, its size is even smaller than Hope. Dun think its a tough fighter coz most of its opponent size is smaller and not strong also. Will try look for FS when free.
If cant find good opponent, will let Oneteeth go soon. Don't have any good hotspot to hunt FS nowdays.

Viper, nice articles you found. It's interesting to know there are people who did studies on the fighting of jumping spiders. But I must say the points verified by the studies are pretty obvious to us in a common sense of way though.
But good that there is a sort of "prove". smile.gif

Wah, viper, I thot you said you let go all your FS caught from your Kelapasawit trip...

Partial chop fighting spider fights (27June2008)
Very interesting fight. At first seems like top one winning, then seems like bottom one winning...mana tau, top one eventually win.

Deflect chop attack. (27June2008)
Seems like the chop tried a jump-over?

Your one teeth seems to be winner in all the fights?

Right now I'm only keeping 2 big males. Bronze is probably bigger than jack but smaller than Bighead. Whiteleg is slightly smaller than Bronze. Bronze is a fierce chop now. Whiteleg is no match for him. Here are some close-ups.

Today went to Cheras Lookout Point to search for FS.

I saw a male bravia eats a small female FS at bamboo leaves. The bravia have some reddish dots colour on its abdomen.
Attached Image

Caught a green spider, dunno wats its species.. look poisonous. blink.gif
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4nrOzYfyEw

Caught 4 average small size male FS from Spider Lily plants.

When about to go back time, i saw a black face FS inside bamboo leaves ..maybe is a red bamboo tree.

Attached Image .

At 1st i think no need catch coz i only look for male fs but the female fs looks quite big so i cut the leaves and bring it to open area and c...
WAH the FS is a very large/huge KING KONG size. Its head and lower abdomen is very huge...size about 10 sen coin.
Not sure whether it will mould and change to Giant male FS later. drool.gif

Here's the giant
Attached Image Attached Image Attached Image

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rcrrz2l6VLA

Search for awhile but cant find male FS there..

Later at home, let the new FS fight..all short fight 1-2 push/chop and ran..

Spin fight
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C87wU2EDleI

Counter with strong push/chop
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNjfJukyxtk

I put Oneteeth with the new Giant Bu. The new Giant BU FS head is 2X the size of Oneteeth head! shakehead.gif
Oneteeth also cautious and show fighting stance when saw the Giant Bu. No courting stance at all...could it because of the Huge size make Oneteeth prepare for any attack or could it be a male FS in disguise?

Wa.. so much FS u have now, need to feed and provide proper place so ants dun go and eat them instead.
I oso wish to populate FS in my house garden but theres not much leaves for FS to breed well.

I use my pda handphone camera to record video of my FS fights. It quite okla..just need to have good light to have a clearer shot.
You still haven't record any video of your FS fights? How about some pics?
Man.. i'm eager to see your HUGE and large FS... i belief other FS fans oso would like to see them.

Last time my FS Hope and Crossfire before converted to chop able to defend and counter attack chop FS quite well. Either your Labrador dun have much fighting experience or Goblin is too fast and fierce in its attack. How many chops attack Labrador able to withstand, tight arm lock technique or all open and bash each other?

QUOTE(centaurfly @ Jul 1 2008, 01:18 PM)
I now stay in Sembawang, used to live in Springleaf with my in-laws 3 years back. have propagated their garden with FS. Can catch FS when visiting them!

I have caught another 16 male FS! 11 from Lower Pierce Reservoir CP, another 5 from Bukit Batok Nature Park CP.

Now got a lot of FS. total....24 males...4 females.

Have fought the Huge Male (Labrador) with the Large Sup Pow (Goblin). Labrador cannot tahan the fighting powess of Goblin. Luckily No injuries. Will pit them again once I condition Labrador up to the task.

Also fought the one-arm small Sup-Pow (Hobgoblin) against a slightly larger FS. The larger FS, ended up as food for Hobgoblin after a brief fight!

Its hard to record the video-clip omo. Need more testing to perfect the skill.

Your Goblin vs Labrador fight like Jack vs Bighead / Chaos vs Hope. Some FS able to deflect/block chop FS attack and counter attack it back fiercely, some just good at normal direct fight.
After some time, i feel your Labrador will oso become a fierce chop also. Some FS tat lost to chop FS becomes no mood to fight for few days/week.. later it will suddenly become fierce chop also.

Your Labrador size is bigger than Heibee's Leviathan ?
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/608348/+600

Looking forward for your FS pics n videos.. do spend some time to take ur FS pics n videos.

QUOTE(centaurfly @ Jul 1 2008, 05:05 PM)
Have fought Labrador previously against all other FS before I caught Goblin. The result at least 8 wins, some long, some brief fight.

As its is much bigger, no need to exert much strength...smaller FS just one arm push and run away. Against Kranji, then my 2nd-king, slightly smaller than Labrador, it was a much longer fight, arm pushing, and Kranji retreated.

The fight between Goblin and Labrador was a chop and run thing...I let Labrador into the arena 1st and make sure it faces its opponent. When Goblin ascended the stage (about 4cm away), Labrador starts to put up its fighting stance, Goblin creep forward and jump, let fly a chop that sent Labrador running away instantly. Goblin is too fast and powerful, i think.

So many FS, dun know how to really rank them in the short term. Some better fighting FS e.g. Q7 (fighting with chop and constantly winning fights against other FS), becomes cowardly after pitting it and losing against Kranji. http://s.lowyat.net/style_images/1/folder_...icons/icon5.gif

Both but i like to keep them as fighter. You can see at 1st page all the exciting /good FS fight compile by Mindstorm.
I'll keep the strong and fierce fighter and train them to fight with other fierce FS.

Keeping FS is like keeping a betta/fighting fish.
The fighting fish have nice colours and when flare its tail, looks cool.
Same goes for Fighting spider, it got nice long arms, exotic green/blue stripes colour and when its ready to fight, it will show fierce fighting stance.
Some FS have excellent fighting skill and can fight very well. If you have 2 excellent FS fighting each other, it will be a very exciting fight coz both FS will try their very best to defeat each other and don't ran away easily. rclxms.gif

You can hunt for FS at Spider Lily plants, bamboo leaves, nipah, palm oil, wild pepper, orkid etcs.
Or if u lazy to go catch, you can buy from ppl who have FS like me or Mindstorm. tongue.gif

Thxs for posting your fs pics. Don't resize the pics till too small, hard to see your fs size.
Goblin pic is too dark.. cant see properly oso. blush.gif
You put ur fs inside name card case with some holes on top? I cant see any holes on your fs case, pic 2 small. blink.gif
Its good to a name card FS case so ur FS can rest its leg supporting its body horizontally. Maybe my FS legs get weak fast coz stick to case vertically most of the time. hmm.gif At 1st i feel if i use a vertical FS case, it can train my fs legs become stronger.

You have alot of fs, time to go for friendly match with other ppl FS in SG liao. laugh.gif

You can use hot soldering rod to make small holes on ur fs case.
From my experience, FS tat can fight well and stand more than 5 chops attack have potential to become a good fighter.
Let it spar with other same lvl fs or chop fs alternate 2-3 days. Later the FS will become very active and fierce.

Xinan and Nexus is just a normal FS for sparring but after few weeks.. they become very fierce fighter.
Your FS will also have potential to become a better fighter if u train them well and fight with other good opponent FS.

QUOTE(centaurfly @ Jul 3 2008, 08:52 AM)
I'll take another clearer pic of Goblin later. My name card cases have no modification. Labrador have been living in its case since 31st May, anyway. I think the air flow should be ok.

I have many of these name card cases collected from my office. it works as great as sparring arena too!

I think its not easy for me to even rank my FS properly.

Try taking video yesterday, but fight too short to have any interest.

Yeah, i also feel its a female FS coz its teeth kinda small.

You still wanna try breeding FS? When you free? you can come and get the Bu FS from me.

I don't use insects repellent.. the smell will makes insects ran away fast. I just wear long sleeves jacket, trackbottom trousers and a cap. There are tiimes i wanted to buy those surgical hand gloves to protect my hand fingers as well. tongue.gif

Most FS can live for months if well take care off. Good ventilation, enuf food, water n clean case to keep FS will keep the FS healthy. Lesser fierce fight and enough days to recover from fights injury also ensure the FS can live longer.

Yeah.. nowdays hard to find FS especially the medium - large size in town area. I think good quality FS can be found at Bamboo, Nipah or palm oil tree leaves. Some of the leaves are too high and cant reach unless use stick to pull the leaves down.

QUOTE(msbc @ Jul 5 2008, 02:31 AM)
Last week half day off so went to a fs hot spot (10yrs+ ago) but all the hibiscus bushes already gone to make way for running track...still remember last time can catch up to 20+ medium to huge f/m fs in a shot if can tahan the mosquito bites as they attacked in a thick black hovering swarm (1-2ft wide) even apply insect repellent also end up with bruises all over the body. Tried to keep the fs alive but it's a pity that most didn't last long, at most a few weeks only. Read from some books that general lifespan for most spiders are around 1 year and for some 5 years or more. The lifespan of female tarantula even exceeds 15 years or more.

Usually, those good spots with dense population of fs are heavily infested with mosquitoes but nowadays the fs and insect populations are also decreasing due to torrid weather as well as fumigation.

I'm staying nearby danau Kota, my house at Taman Setiawangsa.
Any good hotspot to catch FS at Danau Kota?

Adult Male FS have white face, slimmer abdomen, long arm and its rear teeth facing towards outside have a small round ball . tongue.gif
Young FS which haven't mould skin have black face, easier way to differentiate is see its rear teeth... if its straight only, it should be female.

No need use digicam, just use hp camera set macro shot can already.

Yeah, i also feed my FS till fat last time.. i noticed FS in the process become chop have bigger appetite and will eat its food very long.
They also will eat dead insects or even dead FS. Normal FS abit choosy.. some used to eat ants at its natural habitat and abit reluctant to chg its diet.. they will only eat other insects like fruit flies if very hungry.

I already email the guy at his Flickr site.. hope he will response and share his fs pics and videos here soon.

Added on July 8, 2008, 1:40 pmYeah... rear spiderlings is tough coz

-need special case to keep them
-need to source for smaller insects as food.
-need more time to look after them

Advantage..if manage to keep the spiderlings and feed them well, have high possibility they will mould into a HUGE adult FS. icon_idea.gif
Maybe it takes months also to reach tat stage.. need to have a lot patience.

I see in pic 5 & 6. The 2 blue lines at the back abdomen look same like giant BU not much different.
http://salticidae.org/salticid/diagnost/thiania/bhamo-ph.htm

The only big different i notice which is in all Giant Bu legs have striking long brightgreen colour. Normal female FS colour abit dull brown type.
Thats why i thought maybe its a male FS earlier.

I feel FS colour, size and fighting styles varies from their habitat leaves place.
Last time my FS Archilles and Spartan, Xinan caught from bamboo leaves, their colour pale yellowish green very much different from other FS caught from Spider Lily or long leaves plant. Archilles and Spartan size also much bigger than normal FS, fierce and have strong fighting will.

The Huge BU fs i caught from Menara Tinjau Lookout Point.

http://www.kampung-online.com.my/kgBatu9/p...gan_terjun.html
http://www.kampung-online.com.my/kgBatu9/p...an_congkak.html

Thinking of going there to search FS next time, if u free we can go there.
Next week i'm off on 1 week holidays. icon_idea.gif

I was also told by my neighbour, FS caught from swampy area leaves are the strongest, fiercest best fighters compare to FS caught from other type of plants.

Nipah leaves at mangrove swamp ( scroll to bottom):

http://images.google.com.my/imgres?imgurl=...ntryMY%26sa%3DN

Woah.. Riper won easily. I think some FS converted to chop either will become very weak chop or fierce strong chop like Bro1, Hope, Crossfire or Xinan, Vanguard, Scorpion,. Some become weak chop, cant fight long and die much faster.. i dun really think some of the chop FS lost due to old age in fight because i've seen some of my earlier normal FS converted to chop early and become weak/sick/kecut and don't want to fight long... later suddenly become very active and fight fiercely... but some remain weak and later died. That is why i've decided to release my earlier FS which have weak symptoms.

Looking forward to see ur FS aquarium pics and hope u'll have success with FS breeding with the giant BU.

Yeah, Mindstorm can add these to FS video list at 1st page.

This evening after work, i went for my usual light jog & walk at my housing area nearby. I jog passby the area i released Chaos last time and start look around for FS.
After search for a while, i saw a big FS !! Din bring any scissor so i haf 2 use my hand and slow pluck the leaves out. The FS looks skinny, fragile and have weak legs .... base on the FS condition, immediately i know it is Chaos. Its condition is still the same like the day i let it go last month. Chaos have the same symptom like Xonan, Hades, Sigma and Hope.. all oso become weak and fragile.

Chaos lower abdomen and legs have turned dark brown colour. Its abdomen size and shrink look skinny now. Previously before i let it go, Chaos becomes partial chop but not really fierce type... it seem struggling to adapt itself to the changes and seems not doing well. After few weeks, its leg become fragile and not active anymore so i decided to let it go and see whether its health can improve.

Here is the latest Chaos pic caught back today.

Yeah, i also noticed that normal healthy FS tat fought with chop FS will become kecut and later will either become very fierce chop FS also or become weak and died fast.
Some FS might not be able to adapt to the changes and dead due to the chop FS poison?

This evening after came back from Lowyat, i went to by some housing area back lane behind LRT station. Caught 1 average size FS.
Saw another young male FS din catch coz quite small size. After reach my house, i go hunt for another FS so can fight with Infinity. Went to Sugar cane and Pandan leaves area and lucky me caught another average size male FS. Last time i've caught a small partial chop FS at the same spot bfr.

Here's the leaves type for the FS i caught 2day.
Attached Image

After dinner, let the FS fight. rclxm9.gif
Not much exciting fight.. just arm pushing, grab + chop only. Looks normal nia but okla.. maybe later pass to mindstorm to test fight with Riper. I feel Riper maybe will lose. lol..
Named 2day FS winner as Zenith, the lost FS as Infinity. Zenith was caught from my housing area, Infinity caught from lrt station housing area back lane.

FS case need to have enuf holes for air in and out. FS keep in close case without enough air and water will get weak fast.
Spraying water into FS case also not very good because the water may get mix with the FS dropping and poison the FS.
I also feel the FS i caught now becomes weak faster comapare to last time when i play FS in my school days. I rarely see my FS drinks water inside its case and FS seems avoiding the water. Previously I used to take out the FS and let them drink on a clean surface. I let my FS drink early morning dew, plain water on my finger or fruit juice, the FS drinks very long, always healthy and lives longer.

Centaurfly. Thanks for upload your FS videos and PICs. Finally can see ur FS in action. rclxms.gif Your FS pics size too big, its better to resize abit so the website page can load faster.
Goblin is definitely a strong fighter. His fighting tactics reminds me of Kaizer close range strong grab chop attack. Other FS u have cant counter and fight back. Need to look for other strong fierce FS to fight with Goblin to have more exciting fights. You can also try fight Jabber, Pinto and Harry among themselves since all also lost to Goblin.
If you free, u can meet up with those Arofanatics fs kakis in SG for more FS fights. icon_idea.gif Your Goblin FS have good chance to win in FS competition. thumbup.gif

Mindstorm is trying to set up an FS aquarium to test breed FS. He's looking for big/large fierce FS to breed with the Giant Bu tat i give to him.
