Re-watching the MGS4 Gameplay demo, I noticed the sniper-rifle Old Snake uses is a Mosin Nagant.
Given the fact that MGS4 takes place in 2014, I don't see why he'd use a WWII-60's era rifle unless... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Just speculating. actually mosin nagant is still one of the best sniper rifles to date.
Very famous during mother Russia days, until the 60s if not mistaken.cant really blame the Russian army that time because this baby was a standard issue equipment back in WW2. but now replaced by SVD. Still a popular collectors' item in the States. Personally i think the reason Snake uses it is because Kojima wants us to know that the Metal Gear Saga began in WW2..Rise of the Patriots. Then in modern times, La Li Lu Le Lo. That means the Legacy of China, Russia and US (Patriots) began way back. And Snake using a weapon that is as old as the Legacy itself is ironic. cant wait for it.. sadly already own white ceramic ps3.. damn, cant get my hands on the mgs edition ps3's... ni la punca tak sabar sgt kot.. haha...
