QUOTE(Muchi @ Mar 28 2008, 10:07 AM) OMG! You got the pic from the net or is that yours??? Does ordering the standard version of MGS4 entitles me to download the MGO Beta? heh, not mine, just found it on the .net I am unable to find the US version of MGS4 Special Edition over at Play-Asia. I got a reply previously that EBGames are taking in pre-order for the US version but is my M'sian credit card able to make a purchase over at EBGames? ARGH!! It would be really sad if we were left out of the beta testing program. Oh well. If anyone knows of any retailer participating in this program please let us know |

I just want the pre-order DVD & the beta code for the online test. I'm wondering if I should place an order online and get it delivered to my sister...lol, will you be able to cancel your pre-order after you receive the special dvd?

Hm..found this on a site:
"Konami Insider wrote: Here's the deal, we're well aware of PS3 owners applying to subscribe to the MGS Online Beta which is currently limited to Japanese PSN account holders (i.e. Japanese residents), anyone subscribing with a PSN id which isn't registered from a Japanese PSN account will not be accepted into the program. However, we're also well aware that a large number of unscrupulous members have signed up for a Japanese PSN as well. Any member who has signed up to the Japanese PSN with fake or invalid details will be flagged at this point and their PSN accounts suspended pending further enquiries, in addition all beta members have to fill out an initial beta slip sent to their registered Japanese address. If they fail to return this beta slip, their access to the beta programme will become suspended. It is our effort to only offer beta testing to qualified individuals who can offer us quality assurances on the beta versions of any of our software. Members abusing this system will be reported to Sony (worldwide) and it will be our request that such accounts or sub accounts will be banned from participation in ANY beta program in future and in cases where information supplied is fraudulent access to the relevant PSN networks will also be restricted to them." |

Anyone able to access https://id.konami.net/login.do ?
According the the PS Blog you'll have to register a konami id after you download the beta so you might as well do it now. I have a feeling they are restricting that website for US ip addresses only. Oh well, maybe I'll try a US proxy... |

Yeah, they are apparently able to block ip addresses outside the US b/c I don't hear of anyone in the US having problems accessing the content.
So even though you have a beta code, you might be SOL because you can't register a konami game ID...could someone overseas give it a shot and see if http://id.konami.net is accessible in their region? |

Guys, I received the e-mail as well. We're gong to have a real problem registering a GAME ID for use with the beta. We might be able to download the program, but we won't have a user id so it won't be usable.
I think the only way to register will be to use a US proxy and register at http://id.konami.net Does anyone know a working US Proxy?? I've tried a few from a list I found from google but they don't work. |

Uh, so I have MGO and i'm in the mist of downloading the patch. In the meantime I tried serveral proxies (none of them US however) and I still can't get the id.konami.net page to load.
Konami is starting to piss me off -- why not make the beta test open to everyone? Anyone successful in making a Konami ID or am I the only one with the beta game right now? ![]() This post has been edited by OmniAtlas: Apr 17 2008, 02:20 AM |

damn. I tried downloading the patch using web download last night, left it on -- this morning I have a 'network' error.
I guess I'll try the peer-to-peer download next but streamx throttles that like hell. any of you successful in getting the patch? |

Finally able to register my konami id. I followed these instructions on the internet:
I figured out a work-around that seems to work, but you have to be fast and have a bit of patience. Getting past the first couple of screens very quickly got to be easier (with lots of practice)... but the long registration form is what killed me each time. So, here is what seems to work: 1) Get to the long registration form as quickly as possible... then RELAX. Fill out this form very carefully and slowly. Remember that the KONAMI ID NAME must be all lower case and the password must have at least some letters in it and be at least 8 characters long... whereas the GAME ID NAME must be different and the password must be ALL NUMERIC. 2) DON'T submit this (you'll get a timeout)... just make sure it is fully filled out and ready... keep the screen near the submit button. Then, open a new tab in your browser. 3) In the new tab, visit the Konami ID site again. Go through the first set of screens very quickly and if you manage to get to the long registration form and it loads completely (and quickly,) switch back to the tab that was fully filled out and quickly hit submit. 4) Be prepared for the confirmation page. As SOON as it loads, quickly scroll down and click REGISTER. Don't bother looking over your information, because it will time-out. After many tries, this seemed to work for me. FINALLY. It seems the system gives you a session ID that times out WAY TOO SOON for EVERY STEP. Don't they actually want anyone to read at least two words of their agreement on the second page? Apparently not. Oh, and if you get the generic "Our servers are down" type of message instead of the usual "we deleted your session" message... you can recover from this by entering this into your browser's address bar and hitting enter: javascript:alert(document.coo kie=''); If a blank alert box pops up, your browser supports this and just nuked the cookie for the site you were visiting. This should let Konami's servers to let you try again sooner, rather than giving you this generic message for a while. Hope this helps. I kept at this for a while until I discovered exactly how Konami's servers were trying to handle this situation, then came up with this solution to circumvent their silliness. It would be much better if they didn't have this problem to begin with. |

Best bet would be to open two tabs -- take your time with the registration (long page), then in the new tab go to id.konami.net and click continue until you reach the long page registration again.
Then go back to the old tab and press register. That worked for me. |
