If he planning to come back then he have to repay the loan. Else, if he was blacklisted then he won't be able to go back Australia once he come back.

How to know whether we entitle the new 1% interest rate? Im a student , signed the ptptn contract on Dec 2007 and still receiving money from ptptn now (still not graduated). On the year i signed, the proposal of dropping the interest rate to 1% still not implemented. So later my interest to be payed after graduated will be 3% or 1% eh?

i recently spent tons of time dealing with PTPTN to settle my loan. If you signed after certain date- think 1/6/2008 (pls check site to confirm)- then ur interest is 1%. Otherwise, its 3%.

According to the agent- the only way u can be entitled to 1% if signed before the effective date is if you settle lump sum. And even then- its only calculated from that date and not before.. i.e. if i sign in 2003 and finish studies in 2006 and and from 2006 to 2010 i must pay back by installment- and if i choose to pay lumpsum in 2010- i will pay interest 3% until 31/5/2008 and 1% from 1/6/2008 till full payment in 2010..
