It's because of the loan interest.
If you don't pay the interest, you will find out the balance is much than 32221 !

When you decided to pay, make sure you pay exactly as what is agreed in the contract or a little bit more.

Pay more than the principle amount that you requires to in order to reduce the total loan.
*
i don't have extra money to pay more doh.gif

QUOTE(clsiluf @ Jan 8 2009, 09:32 AM)
do you follow the monthly amount that you suppose to pay in the contract ?

example, my loan is 21k and i need to pay RM153++ a month for the next 15 years ... this calculation is from 4% ...

i guess your monthly is not RM100, hence you owe them and the interest keep growing ...
what i can say is the world always not fair  cool.gif
*
in contract for 1st year
i need to pay less than RM100
if im not mistaken..i need to pay about RM80
but i pay RM100
still not enough ka? doh.gif

Wonder if you still need my advise, didnt finish reading it tho.

I only took RM5k loan. At first the admin fee was RM20/month, if not mistaken for continuously 3 days. Of course, not to mention the admin charges was from very little increased to RM20.00. 2 years ago since i started working, what i did was, when i make the payment, i usually pay a whole lump sum. Say 1 year i am supposed to pay back a total sum of RM1200, instead of paying every month by installment, i pay by a whole lump sum. This also save me a lot of money. Imagining per transaction is RM1, i saved RM11!!!

I was told that for the period that you did not make the repayment, you have to pay extra untill ur payment is up to date. Say ur montly payment is RM100.00. Because u didnt pay for a year, the 2nd year when u started to pay u have to pay RM200.00 for a year and once you have done with your first year payment, you can resume paying RM100 per month as scheduled.

So now my loan still remain RM3k and the interest is below RM10.00.

Anyhow, i respect you. at least u are making the effort to make the repayment. Cheers.

I think u need to get approval from them first. In any event, please do not delay in doing all these. As if possible, you could also get your interest stayed so that you dont have to further incur interest.

I mean since you are going to continue studying, might as well talk to the PTPTN people to see if they can temporarily freeze your account and only re-active the repayment when you graduate. If this can be done, then it wud be able to save up quite a substantial sum for you.

i think rite its up to u wan to pay back early or later...

think opportunity cost...

u dun pay back u got more money to use...
use money can be 2 ways of using...spend it for fun or invest...

if u invest MAYBE u untung...maybe u rugi...

if u pay now ur loan decrease...so its up to u

lol

I agree most importantly is remember to settle the loan. This is the only thing that we cud pay back to the society after getting a favour frm them.

some people say no need to pay back is totally bullshit ...

unless the database in ptptn corrupted ... else the defaulter name will be there forever ...

no la u cannot suka suka pay back when u wan -.- not my father open wan...if my father open ptptn sure i give u that special offer edi...

i think under these circumstances only u can apply for delay

1. after 6 months still no job...write letter to them say u wanna extend
2. furthering ur studies i think still can as long its from a legit institution
--- eg. u jus completed diploma then u continue degree

others i dunno i only know this 2 can write letter for extention
