This is the reply i got from PTPTN officer regarding 1% charge:

omfg ... i loan RM 49500 .. my interest rate is 1% (no longer 3% according to new agreement)

so if i pay back 10k when i graduate ..

i still owe RM39500 ... 39500x0.01 = RM395 per year
RM395 / 12 = RM32.9 as interest rite ?

Have anyone received the form of interest reduction posted by PTPTN yet ?

Is it possible for me to apply 4 further loan from PTPTN for the usage of post-graduate before I fully pay the first debt?

I think, it's monthly calculation. Interest is charged, depend on the debt amount left. So, it should be getting decreased if you pay constantly at every month.

Which means the 1% is not applicable for Diploma(s)?

i every month pay rm100
but the balance that i need to settle up increase month by month
it's like no different
i only borrow from them about RM31700
but now the current balance is RM32221
every month pay RM100 like doesn't give any effect to reduce the balance doh.gif

It's because of the loan interest.
If you don't pay the interest, you will find out the balance is much than 32221 !

When you decided to pay, make sure you pay exactly as what is agreed in the contract or a little bit more.

Pay more than the principle amount that you requires to in order to reduce the total loan.

do you follow the monthly amount that you suppose to pay in the contract ?

example, my loan is 21k and i need to pay RM153++ a month for the next 15 years ... this calculation is from 4% ...

i guess your monthly is not RM100, hence you owe them and the interest keep growing ...

yes, but if 2nd year you din pay any, then the calculation will start from 39500 + 395 = 39895 ++ ...
