Guys, can anyone help me to confirm this? QUOTE(talexeh @ Dec 9 2008, 09:15 PM) Hi guys, Not sure if this is the right thread for everything about PTPTN so do go easy on me if I got it wrong ya? I have just received my Pengesahan Jumlah Penyelesaian Hutang PTPTN after waiting for more than half a month. Correct me if I'm wrong again but I have always thought that if we were to clear the loan in lump sum, PTPTN will give us some sort of discount. However, I just checked the amount in their reply & the amount I still owe them through their website, they're totally the same. Anyone with experience in clearing their PTPTN debt can shed some light about this? Thanks in advance!

QUOTE(talexeh @ Dec 10 2008, 04:54 PM) Guys, can anyone help me to confirm this? It is interest-free if you clear PTPTN loan in one lump sum within 6 months after your graduation Refer hereQUOTE Penyelesaian penuh pinjaman dalam tempoh 6 bulan selepas tamat pengajian atau tamat pinjaman tidak akan dikenakan kos pentadbiran. QUOTE(atake @ Dec 11 2008, 12:13 PM) This is the reply i got from PTPTN officer regarding 1% charge: Untuk makluman, perlaksanaan caj 1% bermula pada 1 jun 2008 sebagaimana kenyataan akhbar Y.B. Bagi yang gagal membayar mengikut jadual, mereka tetap dikenakan caj perkhidmatan lama dan hanya boleh menikmati caj baru selepas selesai membayar tunggakan pinjaman ptptn sehingga 31 Mei 2008.wah, so its like this, haiya...make me feel so happy

QUOTE(doinkz_gaara @ Dec 28 2008, 12:41 PM) So we must apply, if not we will be charged 3%? i think the article say to entitle for 1%, you need pay all the amount you suppose to pay until mei 2008 ... let said suppose u need pay rm3k until mei 2008 but you not even pay 1 cent, then you need pay rm3k now to entitle the 1% from the new balance ... correct me if i am wrong ...

Oh; my loan period hasn't end yet. Hehe. I got 24k but only used 11k, so wanna pay back all at one shot.
But 1% per year is attractive though.

Let's say I got RM24k loan, but I only used RM11k, so I'll returned the rest back. Does the interest only counts based on RM11k or the RM24k ya?
Abit confused. >_<

Abit confused. >_< for the first year, they will calculate the interest from 24k ... and the subsequent interest is base on how much balance left ... if you never pay before, then every year, the interest will recalculate from 24k ++ ... as curious said, let said today you go pay 11k, means your balance is 13k, and coming january, they will calculate the interest from 13k, and no more 24k ... this i assume is after 6 months you graduate ... hence your outstanding balance is still 24k ... if you have the 1% rate, it does not make any sense for you to repay the loan at all as the interest rate is way lower than the fixed deposit rates.
Just pay as slowly as possible, and put any excess money you have in fixed deposit.
