ok friend. Going to try. By using the DVI-VGA converter, will it affect the picture quality? Or its not that noticeable from human's eye.

1st i am using VGA to VGA for my pc and I found the pict quality is terrible.. then after I use the DVI-VGA..

So, you basically plug your DVI cable into this converter and then plug it into the VGA slot of your monitor right? Wanna double confirm and the will go and buy it either today or tomorrow. Thanks friend.

hmm.. i am confused now.. i am using VGA cable to slot in into my DVI graphic card slot..

1)VGA Cable
2)DVI converter to be used against item 1
3)DVI to HDMI cable

because we want to make use of the VGA port at the monitor right.. but I never try using DVI cable..
logically it can be done as well.. anyway both ways also u need the converter.

Oh ok. Sorry for making you confuse. I think I will just go to the IT Accesories shop and ask. As long as the graphic wont be affected, I am fine. i just dont want to plug/unplug all the time. Thanks, friend. Have a nice day.

hi guys. new here. i hope this is d rite section hehe smile.gif

im gonna get a ps3 next week and im looking for a good monitor to get also

any recommandations please?

my budget is within RM2xxx...not more then RM3k and at least 32 inch..FULL HD

confused on what to buy

i did research on Sony and it seems good, but when i look at specs it says 8ms Response time for most Sony LCD Bravia within my budgeted price range..I read somewhere best to get below 5ms response... even my PC monitor 2ms response.

so can anyone suggest me a good LCD TV or any LCD that good for games ? or what u think is best? doesnt have to be Sony..

Thank u guys! icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Try Samsung! Its one of the better brands for gaming! 3k could probably get you the new 32inch LED from Samsung. Try Legend in SS2. Got mine there!

32 inch Lcd are great for gaming! Most games were developed on 32 inch lcd's (even pc games ).
Well I'm using a Samsung series 5 40 inch, its response time is 5ms and I got no complaints.
I got a friend using the LED screens and he has no complaints.
There was a 32 inch series 3 at legends going for 1.5k last week! Dunno if its still there.

i'm thinking of getting the new samsung LED monitor. just wanna confirm - can i connect both my PS3 via HDMI and my PC via DVI to the monitor at the same time?

if can, i'm assuming i should be able to change easily which input to display by clicking at the monitor menu/button?

thanks

I have Sharp Aquos A66 42". I suggest to use PC mode and reset your picture setting. Then switch on OPC. On your PS3, set RGB to full range and turn on Super-White under Display Settings.

Good LCD. Best thing to do is to check out other shops! Better try the one's not located in a mall!

not so much relevant to my question, as im not using or intending to use dvi-to-hdmi converter.

i'm expecting some one here that shares the same scenario as me to confirm my queries. One LCD monitor sharing with both the PS3 and PC.

most of the people seems to be either using a vgabox (which i find deteroriate the PC image) or a dedicated 32/40/50 inch LCD screen for the PS3 (which i dun have the budget to purchase one at the moment)

another thing is - currently im connecting the PS3 optical output directly to the Logitech speaker. if i'm connecting my PS3 to the LCD monitor via HDMI, would the sound still being output from the PS3 directly to the speaker or it will now be diverted to the HDMI cable? i.e. the optical cable would now need to be plug to the LCD monitor optical output instead.

thanks notworthy.gif
