C is starting to get better at walking by itself, that's why the gov is starting to let off its hands, it'll be running next year i hope!

danmooncake, what's with the sin stocks? any good news for lvs and mgm?
*
I plan to buy 100 C this Friday.
Anyway, any evidence that C is better now, since they are still losing money?

Don't sweat too much... its temporary drop is because US government is selling back the share they bought as part of the stimulus...

It means to US gov, Citigroup's capital is healthy enough for them to withdraw some of its holdings. Its a good thing as it also means C is on its way out of the bailout program...

However not sure how much it'll continue to drop as its currently trading at a premium over Treasury's conversion price of 3.25. If you have bullet I'd suggest get ready to load more of Citigroup's share...
*
You mean we can buy at a premium? How to buy with 3.25?

From the looks of this thread, its likely that C will breach USD4. I have my guns loaded how about u? Only a crazy optimist will wait for USD2 tongue.gif

As for LVS, we will just have to sit and wait for the pullback. Hopefully much earlier than the completion of Singapore Sands Casino in early 2010.

depends, for me, any price is a good price, coz I'm buying in batches, not intra-day trade or short day trade. It meant for long-term. So, slowly accumulate it.

Next week planning to get more C if it breach 4.00

Yea. Most of us here i asking for a drop in C although we are holding onto some already. Weird eh.

If the Fed withdraw, the US gov is gonna make a handsome profit. Citi's price will drop creating another opening for us bargain hunters.

It's win-win.

i'm also one of the weirdos then biggrin.gif

looking forward to <USD4 in these two weeks

curiously citigroup's executives want the government out of the company and they're not extending the credit line further than october. i know some senior executives working at the local citibank and they're some of the most capable and intelligent financial types i know, i guess that's why i'm bullish on C. i'm going long on C, just put it aside and don't care about it, come back and check in couple of years lol

$3.60 should be the price in October.

But I do think that if US treasury is going to sell all C shares with 6 to 8 months, there will be a sharp decline in share price. Not that many people can buy all the shares. Moreover, that means in 6-8 months, C shares will continue to drop as there are extra high supply. You know how much share US treasury is holding? about 30+%.
kindly advise.

I do believe it probably won't go back down to USD2 but I wouldn't need my day job if I could predict the market. tongue.gif

Eventually their portion will be disposed of gradually but there won't be a sharp decline as bargain hunters will come in and snap up the stocks and that will provide some support to the price. As the market recovers, so will their risk appetite. Besides, the management still have the option to do a reverse share split if they think the share price is too low.

My dip buy of 200 FAS @ 78 yesterday is kicking ass today!! I'm pulling the stop sell trigger if it drops below $85 to protect profits otherwise I'll let this crazy market ride and see where it can take it. nod.gif

Hi, Any one can confirm on regarding the investment tax. I understand capital gain will incurs US 30% tax. Is it true? But as what I read from previous post, US tax is only for DIVIDED.

How about malaysia tax for capital / DIV gain.
