Don't worry junior, still plenty of chance, wait for the next Tsunami come, aim for FNM/FRE when it is around 0.3x, like i bought it about few weeks ago at 0.38, now 0.58. I'm still holding.

I really miss FAS, it really going FAST from 2.x to now 5.x
I also looking at KFN and XTXI, both also have potential to surge alot.

Yes. Now is 3.7 when u send money to US. When stock rises, it will be 3.3. You lose around 20%. Make sure your
stock earn more than what you lose. Kekeke.

Ya well...that's also one thing with investing in foreign stock, currency becomes a factor.

Anyone registered with zecco??? I faxed through everything in it, with the W8-Ben form, part 2, which one applies to a foreigner living in malaysia?

Didn't the US government promised that citigroup will nver be nationalized???? What will be the factor if that happens?

The form applicable to foreigner in eyes of American.
If this happen, probably the shareholders' equity had been wiped up by losses and US government volunteer to take care of their liabilities.

So the W8-ben form, Part 2, what do I tick to avoid having 30% withholding tax on capital gains????

I don't want to invest in the states while risking to only sell above 30% gain.

I'm an Australian working here in Malaysia. Since I work here, I reside here for tax purpose right?? I do'nt have to pay tax to Australia if I don't have any local income there i suppose

Ok. I suppose it's ok for me to invest there then.
CIMB charges too many different fees, otherwise I will just buy through my own cross border account.

Would anyone take a bet in the citigroup stock???

I think so, as far as my experience with Zecco, they won't do anything until everything's there

Hello, I am new in US stock exchange. Anybody heard TDameritrade before? Personally, I think they charged very reasonable service and brokerage fees. 9.99/trade ans 25 dollar to wire transfer the money back to malaysia. Is broker reliable? Any comment?

Recently i also open with optionxpress and already successfully fulfil the acct requirement.
THe last step was to tt my money to this account and start trading..hehe biggrin.gif

One question that i dun understand. why some1 said that when i convert here at USD1 = RM3.7 but when money reach there, it become 3.3?
For example: i transfer USD1K = RM3700. So when reach there, amount should be around USD1K - USD20(cost fees) = USD980, rite?

Im using RHBBank. Usually TT via bank counter. biggrin.gif
Btw, anyone here trade stock options? I found it this instrument very give very lucrative profits compared to stocks.
Compared to KLSE warrants, it much more volatile. Can rise up to 20x folds during these 3 weeks rally (since early March)

Hi,

For part 2, I only ticked:

9a. The beneficial owner is a resident of _________ within the meaning of the income tax treaty between the United States and that country.

The blank above I put Malaysia. The rest i left it blank. If you're Australian I'm not sure if your country has a tax treaty with the US.

Currently only 30% of dividends are retained, capital gains are not taxed!

I applied on 4th June 08 with TD Ameritrade, account approved on 18th June 08, 2 weeks exactly! Also, gave them a call a week after i applied to check if they've received all the docs. Not sure if it's a factor, but I have a US account, so it might have been quicker.

I submitted my application on 19th Feb. They replied back said they have received my application on 24th Feb and finally my application approved on 27th Feb. All within 6-7 working days.
Did they sent any email notification to you that they received ur application and now pending for approval?
Btw, how much the commission charges for trading options in zecco? OptionsXpress charging USD1.49 for each contract traded. Minimum USD14.99

Hi,

Have anyone tried Firstrade before? If yes, can provide some comment and advice on opening an account for Malaysian.
