yalor, the core is quite fragile....

The mounting of XP-120 really a pain in axx, especially without remove the whole mobo

hahaha..i got no time to test la..these days bz..even ice also slowly do only..

that's why i said "later" mah...since most of the AM2 940 mobo still quite new and under warranty
won't take risk to break the F3 pins

and the f3 is like...not available anymore...except dblooi go and import again

F3 available... very cheap some more.. 1600-LE

all 6000+ is F3 cpu with same stepping with the dblooi
but default 3ghz and 2mb cache .... =P

hi there.. i'm newbie in oc. hope all sifu can teach me how to oc my proc step by step.

Currently using amd 3500@2.2ghz,
AC freezer 64 pro,
1gb x 2 kingston ddr2 667mhz,
asus m2n32 sli deluxe,
enermax liberty 500watt psu,

Disable the cool and quiet in the bios
Get to know the voltage and vdimm,
load up some cpu-z screen shot.we'll begin to help.

u have to used your thumb, fully force it to go in, while doing that, u are afraid will ruin other parts next to cpu.
really a pain in axx i must say.

ya... i saw it in xtreme system too
and i guess the oc ability of it is even greater than windsor F3 since it is single core proc,
suppose to be easier to oc compare to dual core

from the SS, this LE-1600 seems not so good
~1.6v needed in order to hit 3.4GHz

Well, the 1mb cache of the 6000 is nice..but price
Its cooler and has lower wattage cos its only single core..believe this or not, you can actually run most K8 single cores without a HSF, as long as you have a fan blowing on the IHS and do not load the thing for more than 15mins at once (enough to boot up cleanly). On idle it will not overheat, especially if CnQ is on. How I know this? It took more than 5 mins for my former F2 to reach 65C on idle when I removed the HSF during an experiment, and I didn't even have a fan blowing on it. Proves that the IHS is really doing its job, in absence of a HSF it prevents the processor from overheating rapidly, it becomes sort of a mini heatsink.

Whats the different btwn it and the normal F3?

Nope. There are some F3 in 65W, 89W and 125W.
For our 3800 F3, they are rated as 65W
