QUOTE(lohwenli @ Dec 20 2007, 09:19 AM) Well, the 1mb cache of the 6000 is nice..but price Walau bro, without HSF also u test yr proc ah?Its cooler and has lower wattage cos its only single core..believe this or not, you can actually run most K8 single cores without a HSF, as long as you have a fan blowing on the IHS and do not load the thing for more than 15mins at once (enough to boot up cleanly). On idle it will not overheat, especially if CnQ is on. How I know this? It took more than 5 mins for my former F2 to reach 65C on idle when I removed the HSF during an experiment, and I didn't even have a fan blowing on it. Proves that the IHS is really doing its job, in absence of a HSF it prevents the processor from overheating rapidly, it becomes sort of a mini heatsink. Wanna test if the thermal shutdown protection working or not ah? |

As what I can see, I assume that your processor stock Vcore is 1.375 +-.
Here some steps for you to the journey of overclocking. 1. Manual set Vcore and Vdimm. Vcore = 1.4v & Vdimm = 1.8v 2. Set HT Link Multiplier to x4 3. Set Ram Divider to 533MHz & Ram Timing to 5-5-5-15-21-2T 4. Add HTT by 5 or 10MHz. Then Orthos to test stability for around 30 mins for each setting. 5. If error detected, add Vcore and Orthos again. P/S: 1. HT Link and HTT are different things. 2. For Orthos program, google it then you will find it 3. Please use CoreTemp to monitor the temp. Better keep under 60C If anything weird happen, please do post here -pWs- This post has been edited by -pWs-: Dec 20 2007, 09:39 PM |
