hi everyone,i'm new 8800GT user here:
i wanna ask u guys,u all's 8800GT only hv 1 pcie power connector?
mine hv 2.i plug 2 of them to my psu. i found it weird.btw, the card i'm using the one in my signature.bought at C-Zone at RM729(they got promotion)

in room temp(25 C):
GPU-Z reports:
idle: 42 C
load: 60 C

settings in Rivatuner:
Core clock: 650
Memory clock: 950

driver using the latest beta driver for vista 32 bit,i downloaded from nvidia.com
*
Whee rclxms.gif new 88 user. Do u mean by 'plug 2 of them to my GC'. sweat.gif .Only Galaxy has two pci-e power con (correct me if im wrong). Read it on last month's Max-IT magazine n supposedly its to increase stability or somethin like that for oc'ing. The authors themselves arent sure. hmm.gif Try googling around. Btw, nice temps thumbup.gif

*
hmm.gif hopefully galaxy users can help u. Diff sub vendor diff capability of card tongue.gif .Btw ur r wat chips? samsung, qimonda or hynix? If cant oc much then why they put 2 pci-e rclxub.gif .hahaha

i have zotac 88gt amp edition on gigabyte n650isli-ds4, the card temp is around 60-65 idle. Any comment from u guys?
*
60-65 C zotac amp edition . . . shocking.gif u got urself a HOT card *power n thermal hot. Read reviews and supposedly zotac has one of the coolest single slot cooling thx to its customed cover for its cooler. Wat about at load, try include for idle n load, if idle already 60-65, loads gonna be a thermal bomb. JK JK tongue.gif Like vincentlaw said, maybe ur casing no proper air flow. hmm.gif

in fact pc run 24/7
*
Urs izzit glaciator? But if u nvr game often then no need lar, tems idling around 55C just nice only. No need to spend a bomb on TR when not required. laugh.gif

yes hermit, my zotac does fry under load sometimes reaching to 85! guess the air flow isn't proper, but even when i put a table fan next to the car the temp still lingers around 70-80...
*
shocking.gif . . . serious, the table fan blowing direct to the case with side panel open also 70-80C. I thought reaching so high is for cards by sub vendors using the single slot cooler. Hmm, hav to ask zotac users like Vannus n ask him his cards temps. Vannus, help this guy, u got 2 zotacs brows.gif

Hmm, vannus's cards seem to be kinda cool . . . kolkool card aint cool at all :hmm Reaching 60+ C on load is nice thumbup.gif : People also advised me when my card reached 90C on 10 mins of gaming, i bought an accelero. Maybe your card contact with the cooler not well, my best guess would be that. Dun blame me if im wrong. notworthy.gif Hehe, oc just for benchmarking should be ok. tongue.gif If play games wit oc done . . . i also dun dare sweat.gif

i read in the HWM Jan 2008 says that 88gt has core temp around 70 which is higher than most cards. I guess that explain why my gt has higher temp even on idle, well apart the mobo is choked with wire and other stuff
*
ya ive read it too, but that caters for 88gt wit its stock cooler, others such as zotaz amp, galaxy 2 slot, asus glaciator . . . etc, it shold be slightly lower. Its weeird though, bro vannus doesnt seem to hav the tems prob. rclxub.gif
