QUOTE(Terence573 @ Jun 26 2008, 05:33 PM) If wanna SLI gonna change board also.....u know there is currently very limited intel cpu coupled with SLi mobo....only amd and SLi.....so If wanna change hav to change cpu also haizzzz... Intel wit Sli mobo have a acceptable range compared to AMD wit Sli mobo, for amd its either nforce 590 or the crosshair II, like my hardware is already sli ready so sli is cheaper compared to CF cuz i dont need to change mobo n gc. |

QUOTE(riku2replica @ Jun 28 2008, 12:04 AM) 1. 8800gt maybe too cram in a m-atx casing as it has a very long pcb.(but it still possible. Ventilation plays a role in the heat thingy, so spend xtra cash on the fans.(i can assumed that ur building something like a htpc) I'll add to riku's statement (hope u dont mind)2.minimum 450 watt real power psu.(as stated on nvidia site, advisable to get cosair psu 520watt/silverstone st50f.Maybe, other could recommend something better) 3. gt<gts<gtx. Depends on the gpu core and the memory used on the pcb. It was best bang for bulk b4 nvidia release 9600gt. 4. depends on the reference cooler. Some cooler takes up 2 slot but it depends the which brand and the cooler. 1. Older 8800gt uses nvidia's reference board n cooler which means longer pcb but single slot. Currently gigabyte and xfx 8800gt made their own pcb board which is shorter bout an inch or so . . . thus they use their own cooler, which takes two slots. |

QUOTE(OmniAtlas @ Jul 2 2008, 11:36 PM) yeah but how long? I see you have the galaxy 8800 GT? how is the performance? worth it for the cash? Galaxy is quite cheap and its a cooler master designed cooler, so 2 slots will be taken . . . it has voltage jumper from 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 (if im not wrong). However if u have ear drums of steel, then its ok cuz many complained bout its cooler being too noisy like hair blower. Btw, i thought galaxy fan speed cant be controllerd by riva. |

@OmniAthlas
Haha, we meant GC by Graphic Card, not Game Console . . . no wonder uve been talking bout ps3 the few previous post. Nobody uses the term VC. @Izwan989 Ur using the galaxy wit reference cooler izzit? Reference cooler definitly can be controlled, wat i meant was the cooler designed by CM, the fan cant be controlled. The new BFG 8800GT OCX is sweet . . . 700/1000/1730, with thermo intelligence tech, green led (my preference). But a price tag of rm 849 This post has been edited by hermit23: Jul 3 2008, 02:21 AM |
