If talking about hardware, no doubt is PC, this is a flexible monster, if talking about gaming, COnsole is the gamer paradise.

I don't see what's the point of comparing. The kinds of games that come out tend to be different too, which is why there's so many in this topic claiming superiority of one over the other.
Hardware aside, think about it. PCs are a lot more up close and personal, whereas consoles tend to be more relaxed (living rooms?). Not to mention ergonomics and all that, and you've got two mediums that are not in direct competition. People end up making certain types of games for PC and certain types of games for However, I will say this. I believe PC works out better than console (assuming you can get a decenp comp) as you can game very well on PC on top of everything else. You can even get gamepads/sticks to help with your gaming experience and can probably use it down the line for all sorts of current games, emus and such. HOwever, how much use would a console player get out of a keyboard/mouse setup? Also, keep in mind that most versions of games that appear on both PCs and consoles favour PCs in some way or other. Mods, tweaks, downloadable content...lately it's been getting better for consoles (UT3 cooking for both PC and console), but for the most part PC versions tend to be better in that sense. To everyone saying you need to upgrade all the time, not so. A good graphics card can last you for 3-5 years, depending, which is pretty good, considering that a good grapihcs card can produce better graphics than consoles for the most part, and if you played teh console counterpart you wouldn't be playing at the best settings anyway, just the best settings that the console can handle (which for the most part isn't up to par with PC).* * I realise the graphics card is not necessarily the only thing when it comes to price (compatibility and such) but I'm just saying that the whole have to upgrade every year thing is a myth, unless you absolutely need all of the best features all the time. PS - Let's not forget game choice. For everyone that says "All the good games are on console" keep in mind that ergonomics and all the other factors I mentioned come into play. How many good RTS are there for console? Similarly, how many good fighting games are there for PC? Depends on what you want. EDIT: I forgot to mention that consoles are easy to set up and use. However, keep note that sometimes the console manufacturers try to ram something down your throat too, and that also costs money (most recently, I'm annoyed by the Wii and their higher sensitivity control thingamajig). QUOTE(Mgsrulz @ Oct 15 2008, 12:29 PM) 1.5K for a blu ray player, wifi enabled media center That's not really true. Original PC games cost much more cheaper than console games. Take a look at COD4. PC versions maximum only costs only around RM160/- when it first come out. Xbox 360 & PS3 version costs around RM200/-. Furthermore, the online capabilities of PC version is superior with mods, etc.VS 500 bucks for just the graphics card. not forgetting the RAM,OS,HDD,etc.. if you want to go the pirate way, then definitely pc is cheaper (assuming you're more than fine not upgrading anytime soon) go original, and consoles are not only cheaper, but less headache too.(pc=incompatibility issues, driver issues, patch problems, etc= besides, not everyone leaves their pc in the living room, but the console sits snug right there. |

Superior is subjective. What games do u actually want to play will determine what is "superior". If you're an MMO freak then yes PC is superior. You want to play console exclusive then you'd be out of your mind to agree that PC is "superior".
Which platform is superior? It's a flawed question if u ask me. |

Currently, I play PC GAMES because:
Neverwinter Nights 2, Spellforce 2, The House of the Dead 3, Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, The Witcher Enhanced, Command &Conquer 3, Red Alert 3 (pre-order already -RTS is best played on PC), Starcraft 2 (a must buy), Diablo 3 (also a must buy), Alien shooter: Vengeance, Company of Heroes, World in Conflict...... Currently, I play Xbox 360 games because: HALO 3, Gears of War (PC version is better looking tho'), Lost Odyssey, Forza 2, Borne's Conspiracy, Dead Space (played better using gamepad), GTA IV, Ace Combat, Dead or Alive IV, Soul Calibur IV, Virtua Tennis 3, Fable II...... Which one is more superior?........ I don't give a DAMN! |
