I'm sorry if i hurt some one feeling, fan or a group here. Just from my small opinion and resources such as games magazine that i read bfor There already mention there target gamers for certain console.Nintendo did mention that Wii is more for casual gamers and family environment. Nuthing wrong with that and it fun anyway i do own DS and i love it sumtimes

true hardcore gamers knows most, if not all games that are nominated for game of the year award, they usually tend to be especially good at one or more genre of games. They know release dates for games that they want. They respect copyright, owns original copies of games that they really like, knows the names of some game developers, among other things.

Better you ask nintendo because there are the one who label their product as for casual gamers cheer up man i also plan to buy Wii as i love to collect console

Maybe because there are more casual gamers in the world and it shows by the rate both DS and Wii are selling around da world. Nintendo does not label Wii/DS as a product for casual gamers. What they did is that they expand their market to capture the casual market and also not depriving their "hardcore gamers" with the release on Metroid Corruption, Mario Galaxy and Zelda Twilight Princess. Those 3 gamers mentioned will take countless hours if you want to complete the game fully (Which should be good for any so called "hardcore gamers" to own).

Anyway this is just my opinion and I live through the 8 bit & 16 bit era with Mario. (SONIC SUXORS)

Hope more AAA game title such as zelda, metroid etc...will come to Wii and less crap game from third party developer. Well not to mention that i live since atari era

And I thought we had a good discussions going on.

On the third party stuff, there are good/great games from them but I lazy to list it out (I'm sure you being a "hardcore gamer" can search on the internet yourself). More third party are coming and bringing their A game such as Capcom (Monster Hunter 3). As Wii keep on outselling both the rival systems every month, more third party will come and support it. Its just that they are doing the waiting game ATM.

An if you have been living throught the atari era, you should know that when a system is currently on top, third party tends to flock it and as a result it will end with more crap than good games. This is true with the Atari's (The infamous ET game), Nintendo's and the Playstation's.

On joining my club, are you sure your current "Hardcore Club" allows it as I thought their motto is Ninty Suxors!!.

Edited: Anyway, I thought the TS asked current Wii AND 360/PS3 owners to give their constructive opinion. Seeing someone who doesn't own both but ends up posting bashing comment is not constructive in my opinion.

That may be true, as you know i have a Wii as well and im a hardcore gamer...i even play with both the PS3 guys and 360 guys best i can....but i can tell you...the Wii is not the hardcore gamers machine..Most hardcore gamers have been gaming for years...i have been gaming for about 15 years...that means that they have been exposed to franchises that they care about like MGS, Tekken, DOA, Virtual Fighter, Halo....also hardcore gamers enjoy games that has plenty of action...The Wii..hardly has any action games when compared to the 360 and PS3.

I know that Mario Galaxies is very addictive and can be considered a hardcore game, the fact is out of the Wii's lineup..only Mario and few other titles are targeted to the hardcore, the rest are targeted to the casuals...

I mean no offense but lets have a comparison shall we?

Yes, they did....several times... maybe not the DS since it has several hardcore games that any hardcore gamer like myself love....CONTRA 4? The best DS game in my opinion...

Got Wii, DS, 360 and all the old gen stuff. DS is my portable buddy (Planet Puzzle League FTW!), bring it whenever I travel for work. Wii is great when you have friends over who don't play games and I only really play the awesome Nintendo games on my Wii (latest Mario Galaxy, if not it collects dust). 360 is my main one as there are plenty of great games and of course XBL just makes it a great social experience as well.

Lets start fresh and see your definition of hardcore gamers:

Oh BTW you missed out on Final Fantasy franchise which was originally from a Nintendo system before moving to a Playstation.

One question though, how about those kids who spent countless hours collecting their Pokemon OR someone who spent hours daily making sure their town are perfect in Animal Crossing. And some other points to ponder.

Other action are also coming in like No More Heroes, Monster Hunter 3, Dragon Quest Swords, Tomb Raider, Prince of Persia, Ghostbusters and ect

-"Wii is missing several hardcore titles such as GTA". For sandbox kinda games Wii has Godfather and Scarface. In regards to GTA, Take Two has been releasing games such as Table Tennis and Manhunt on Wii. Who knows maybe they will bring the GTA francise to Wii if Wii keeps on selling by the bucketload.

1) First off im sorry for not mentioning the Nintendo franchises...its not out of spite...its just that i forgot sorry. I still remember my Super Mario 3 days on my NES...Absolutely nothing can take that memory away.

What i mean by the casual gamer is that they dont play as long or as hard as we do....the Wii has several games targeted to the casual gamer...

2) it is also interesting that you mentioned No More Heroes as a hardcore title....i agree with you on that...but as you may know it bombed its release in Japan...which is unfortunate to say the least...

3) I knew that Scarface and Godfather was released for the Wii...the thing is that it was also released for the PS2...

Fact is...both games bombed on the Wii...

I really lost my respect for the casual crowd after the whole No More Heroes slump...that game looked so good, it always hurts me when a good game like Psychonauts, Beyond Good and Evil and No More Heroes lose out to crap like 50 cent...
