your friend can always call for a taxi. most cab drivers know about uniten. if he is a regular customer, he can discount.  biggrin.gif

last time there will uniten bus will be going to kajang ktm train station twice a week (if i am not mistaken). but now i'm not sure whether the service is still available or not.  cool2.gif

serdang and kajang town is also close by. UNITEN is at the center of everything.  rclxms.gif

aiyaa.. its not that bad la. just for 4 1/2 days only. u can make new friends and get to know the faci. they can be very helpful. during my time, they helped me to get 2nd hand text books.  icon_rolleyes.gif

kosea01 : During my past experience as ex-fasi for twice in orientation. All Muslim girl's must wear tudung during orientation and if you did not bring you have to find it n borrow from any of your friend or your housemate. As what skinnydude better being safe than sorry.

tips to save money (for newcomers)

books
textbooks cost a lot especially engineering books. ranging from rm50 till rm100.
since the inflation rate is getting its better not to get brand new books and i have some tips for u all

1) u can get from the seniors. usually they will sell for 3/4 or 1/2 of the original price. if u r lucky they may borrow to u. (can save a lot of money) tongue.gif
but if u have to return it at the end of the semester, u wouldnt have the book to refer in future.

2) get the photostat copy from the engineering photostat shop. it will cost only 1/2 of the actual price.
but the book will be in black and white, super boring and super heavy. (sometimes 2x of the original copy)
but u can always separate the book into a few sets and just bring the necessary pages to class

3) during your 1st day of class, lecturer would give the handout on the course outline and the textbook which u r required to get. rush to the library and
borrow the book (there will be only <5 books, considered lucky if could get the older version). biggrin.gif . u can get the exact book but u have renew it
every 2 weeks. (can do it online but i never really figure it out). rclxms.gif

I'm from Bangi Campus..graduated Dec 07..Class of 2003..Hehe..Super senior laugh.gif
You really take a lot of effort in helping those newcomers. rclxms.gif You should apply for orientation fasi..Hehe
Maybe u guys can have a small gathering during the new semester smile.gif

*To renew your book online..just go to the uniten website -> Explore uniten -> Library -> Uniten Library GeoWeb or http://geoweb.uniten.edu.my/ -> Click Login -> Patron functions -> Enter your ID No and IC No

It will now display all the item that you borrowed from the library and Click Renew to renew the book. You can keep renewing the book as long as there is nobody booked it..
I always renew online..the easiest way to renew your book. Safe money(petrol) n time nod.gif
