for ladies, the dress code is kind of lenient. compared to guys. just dont wear sexy and revealing clothes. other than that, everything is good. jeans and t-shirt wouldn't be a problem.
3 years i have been studying in uniten but i have never heard girls getting "sound" by lecturers. guys r the ones usually kena..
during orientation the facilitators would say many rules and regulations but u dont have to follow everything.
on mondays, if u r going to the administration building, also known as BA wear formal clothes. like what the working ladies would wear. dont wear skirt, t-shirt and etc. u can get yourself into trouble. but if u r going to the engineering building for class, u r free to wear anything.
dont worry to much. say to your mum the same thing. oil price has increased, so dont spend on buying new clothes.

I need to add something here..For girls, you can wear skirt on Monday..but below the knees.
COIT lecturers are very strict in your attire especially for guys. Guys compulsory to wear tie and ID on Monday. You are not allowed to enter the library if you are not wearing tie on Monday as well.
Gently reminder for those girls especially non-muslims, please do not wear shorts to the Accommodation office. You will definitely chased out by them.
To sweeneyT, I'm an ex-fasi for orientation but I didn't handle those transfer credit student's. But so far there is no prob between fasi n those students. If I'm not mistaken, for transfer credit student you will have less session in orientation. Hope you will enjoy the orientation

haha. exactly. that was the hell part. reminds me of some army camp. and when siren on, the facilitators will come knocking at your room door. about the notification i dunno la. last time they gathered us all at dinner, and then give a short briefing of what and when the orientation really starts.
Imagine those fasi who even slept late than the students and wake early just to wake u all up. That was the tiring part of all. Anyway, there will be fasi stand by the whole night in case of emergency.
