hahaha like there's any other lecturer in sunway doing p1.. ><
haha, his notes ar.. very pening kepala la, so many words.. i see oso no mood... dunno which is point which is not. frankly i feel like p1 very little stuff to write about ler, all the points seems so.. pointless and obvious.

darn stupiiiiid.

hahaha, as for F7.. it's not raelly as bulky as it seems... just menon's notes very alot XD but frankly core principles actually very little only... ><
*
Eh,his P1 notes is unbelievably thin for a core paper subject la laugh.gif New subject,no big fat notes compilation yet
But I get what you mean, sometimes u really wonder what to write for this subject sweat.gif

Shadap u,F7 is relatively bulky, and P2 is retardedly bulky laugh.gif

Black pen refers to the filling of student details I believe.(on ur booklet, attendance slip)

I've always used blue pen for my answer script

@Zoeee : don't wry about balancing the b/s. If pass/failures were determined by that, most of the students would be failing especially at higher lvls laugh.gif
No seriously, just post as much answers u can from ur workings. As Menon (frm sunway) would always say, pick up as much marks as possible, especially the easier ones.Don't bother too much bout the harder marks tongue.gif

littlediana I believe it's IAS 8.

No idea what to focus for f7,since I'm doin the paper this sem sweat.gif

But srsly, don't give up on the remainding questions.Dunno also write some nonsense in. Just go through whatever notes u have and at least understand each standard's principles so you have somethin to write. Besides, you need to know standards to do Q2 right wink.gif

*
Which area do u wanna go? Subang/Petaling/KL etc. I think someone here was saying there was a pullout about ACCA + various colleges providing it in STAR newspapers either 1 or 2 days ago.

As for KBU,no idea.erm,Sunway coll is pretty good tongue.gif

hi sching,
I'm taking P1 next sem, but undecided whether want to study by myself or attend class.
so just wanna enquire, is P1 = mostly theory or involve calculations as well?
Where and which books do u purchase??

ok thanks....

p.s wat about P2 or P3?
if din attend class, can pass???
*
P1,full theory.

Any paper is passable without classes if u study real hard, but imo p2 and p3 would be pretty hard to pass without classes.

Well,it's a new paper. I knew right from the start that the materials we currently have was not gonna be too sufficient.
As for critical thinking, criticism and application outside the text (and what nots),it's a professional paper (i.e. part 3,i.e. core paper) Obviously they're gonna have stuff like that =.='''

As to how the paper was, section A was rather tricky/relatively vague in parts while section B was a lil more manageable. I think a pass should be quite attainable, erm, hopefully at least

Mr Goh is a good lecturer.Trust me,I have him as my audit lecturer for P7 and he makes the class real interesting (and has alot of story telling too).
P1 however,is a problem,as it's a new subject. He himself recognizes that he has problems making the class interesting. But he's still did a good job for the first sitting imo

got my results, failed P1. Kinda sad but I guess I'll deal with it.

my f7 was pretty good though.
*
Hmm,P1 seems to be somewhat of a surprise package,in terms of results at least.

F7 good,up for a prize maybe? thumbup.gif

And iianm, you have 4 papers left.If so,do u plan to take them all this sem? Have quite a number of frens who have 4 left and are considering taking all 4 P papers this sem

QUOTE(babysept @ Feb 20 2008, 09:26 PM)

im plannin to take F9 and P5 .. only 2 papers.. is that possible?? Or must i follow the sequence?

after F9, its P2 .. ..
*
iianm ACCA wants u to go module by module now. i.e. u'll have to take f9 + some core papers

And looking at the passing rates,I think P1 was a surprise package.Alot of ppl either didn't clear it if they thought they would or they got lower marks than they thought they would.

My word of advice? P1 is still a P paper, don't forget that. It may seem relatively easy on the surface compared to the other P papers, but don't let that fool u. Don't neglect this paper when revising smile.gif

Then how about P4 & P7?
will be the reverse?
wil be continue difficult in this june 08?
and become easy when more sitting?
*
P4 and P7,advanced audit and fm. These papers will never have high passing rates anyways. Difficulty wise..who knows. They might lighten up slightly in an attempt to push up the passing rates, but I doubt u'll see a trend such as it "becoming easier with more sittings"

only 28% passing rate for P6?  sweat.gif  sweat.gif luckily i'm not taking that paper anymore  whistling.gif
surprisingly F8 has a higher passing rate compared to previous sittings. thanks Alan Lewin!  notworthy.gif
anyway optional papers are really more difficult than core papers in the new syllabus since they are the final challenges to complete ACCA. so we must work harder on it!  smile.gif
you've already joined. WELCOME! smile.gif
*
Well,it is the first sitting and rather difficult to tell. I think probably not as many students as usual sat from optional papers, since those moving on from part 2 were directed to core papers instead of optionals. All P papers are as difficult imo
