Your comparing COD 3?

LOL

Put Gears of War or COD 4 then stand from far and see.
*
Well, I am not going to stand far and see. You see, there isn't much space in the living room. So, I will be (guessing) standing perhaps 4-5 feet away from the display. So yes, FYI, I will be able to see the difference. Why would I want to stand "far" ? LOL... that would defeat the purpose of a big display even if its 37".

ps: More thoughts and comments are welcomed...

I'm using a 22" widescreen lcd monitor. I'm still in college so I'm fine with 720p for now. At least is the cheapest way of getting HD  rclxms.gif

Well , to Xbox360 aka thread starter , that Philips screen will makes a good purchase .

I liked the idea being family TV+gaming . Hell you get HD add-on for the 360 , or hook it up to any HD source and enjoy .

I'm serious , no sarcastic here . Enjoy the purchase and your future 360 , those denying this and that again are just being jealous . tongue.gif

Yeah, I guess its wiser to use it as a family TV. My TV at home is approximately 9 years old... sweat.gif Sometimes it has to be "warm up first" before I can use it...

LOL biggrin.gif I believe they're speaking their minds even if this is the case...

I asked them... they have Sharp Aquos (100Hz ! That would be good for the eyes). But again, the price is an issue...

Sony LCD TVs are kinda pricey... from what I've checked out thus far...
How bout Panasonic or JVC or Haier ? No matter what LCD TV I look for, I keep going back to Philips.
It pretty much fits my wallet and feeds my eyes.

"Really bad?" Or "just fine" ? From the demo on the Philips LCD, its definitely not high quality but heck, is our TV signal HD or is Astro feeding us HD signals ?

You can't have the best of everything. Unless you're rich.

There are some channel in HD though , like discovery channel lol .

IMO , normal signal from Astro is still watchable , albeit stretched a little and slightly pixelated at close. That's what I've observed from my relatives 40" HDTV displaying Astro .

Certainly I believe no one sits close enough to the HDTV counting pixel right ? tongue.gif

For gaming, I would be sitting a little closer, so the 720 vs 1080 matters to me.
As for normal TV viewing, I am (sure) to sit farther as to "not count the pixels".

ps :
Oh boy... I won't be here until Friday, will be extremely busy in college... Hopefully the internet in my college improves its speed so that I can hit "Add Reply"... biggrin.gif

pps :
so, get those comments, rantings, critics, and slammin good deals and recommendations coming.

Top picks for me thus far...
1. 37" Philips 37PFL7422/98 1080p LCD TV (RM 4k..., normal RM 5k+)
2. ....

Budget...
RM3k > RM4 1/2 k

Where? Courts Mammoth? Hmm... yeah, been there. They have 720p that is affordable... but err... don't you think the fact that I can get a full HD 1080p Philips that has "decreased the normal price" by RM1k is worth while? I mean, to tell you the truth, normal price is RM5,499. Now, its RM4,200. RM4k was my cut-off point, but hey, its worth it.

*Edit: MBF offer ends early next year (Nov-Dec offer). So, I better get it while I still have time.
