I think you got it wrong , or just typed them out wrongly . Let me help to sort it out precisely

from rm2,299 -->
RM700 LESS for a mere 3 inches Reduction? (27" to 24" Dell)
RM1240 LESS and you can get BenQ 24" with HDMI ? RM1759 , the cost of the BenQ 24" , precisely .

0And Djinn is still wondering on the agree thingy lol

yeah, I was like huh ? agree? agree on what ?

I emailed them but never replied. The email I sent ages ago. Then why put email address in the first place.

It was scarier than I thought when I got there. What my friend told me about the place was that its literally a "hideout". I didn't believe it. It was a indeed hideout. The picture of the front from the website speaks differently. It looks like I was about to enter a mall or something. biggrin.gif

the part is; DVI, HDMI, VGA, I was asking on whether my display needs a converter and would it be a better buy to get a HDMI LCD TV (cheaper or more expensive than to get a big screen PC LCD that has no HDMI) the dude finally said "go ask your TV vendor". biggrin.gif Like I didn't know that.

No dude, the focus has shifted from the TV being used "just for my PC and Xbox 360" to "it will be in the living room as the main TV at home". Given the fact that it costs more than RM4k (credit card members, so its actually well over RM5k, MBF members only). Its also full HD (1920x1080), I witnessed the difference there and then between 720p and 1080p. nod.gif

The dude had an Xbox 360 attached to the TV, and I did see some difference. However he said I won't really see much difference if I stood 8 feet away (recommended distance). True enough. Game tested was Call of Duty 3, he told me its a native 1080p game.

I was compelled to get a 720p display, but with the offer and the fact that its 1080p, I definitely got this TV booked down for me.

I have not purchased it yet. Those Dell people are quite stubborn when it comes to cancelling an order.

ps : I welcome more comments (and criticises).

No, I think I asked GH one too many questions on LCD HDTV.

Thanks for the info.

Been scouring Panasonic, Sony, JVC, Toshiba, Sharp and finally Philips websites. I called them and asked about anything of 37" or 42" that has full HD. Even when they said they do have it, its ridiculously priced, well above RM5k.

I guess I will be settling for the Philips 37 PFL7422/98 1080p LCD TV. Its priced at RM4k for MBF card holders. Normal price above RM5k. Luckily they had one on demo, and like I said earlier, the quality was freaking awesome. My Halo 3 and NFS Pro Street can't wait to get out of their boxes... biggrin.gif

May I ask where are you going to put the tv?

I will say that getting a full HD just for playing game is a waste of your money. If you say for you to watch movie, then it's ok. But for playing game. rclxub.gif

The graphics appears on your display still depends on your game graphic. There is a limit how far the game graphic was created for that game. Even you have a super duper HD tv, but the graphic still stays how it was design in the first place.

May I ask, do you ever put your own position as a father, and 1 day your son come ask you " I want to get a 40''+ LCD tv, can I dad ? I'll promise to pay by installment "

Well, if I try to tell my parents that I will pay them back by installment, they will still ask me when I start working the only go and buy.

As far as I know, xbox360 dont support 1080p much. I dont know about HD-DVD add-on, i think it also is 720p. So if u r using xbox360, then using 720p is enough. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, I know 720p is enough but I got lucky with the Philips. It just so happens they showed me the difference of 720p, 1080i and 1080p there and then itself on an Xbox 360. The game was Call of Duty 3. Standing 8 feet away, you can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. But closer, like 4 feet, you most definitely can. nod.gif I know what I saw.

Your comparing COD 3?

LOL

Put Gears of War or COD 4 then stand from far and see.
