IIRC , most games are upscaled only and Halo3 native is at 640p . IMO full HD is a joke at smaller display .
P/s : The Dell LCD if used on PC sure helluva awesome though .

Ok since you've settled with a non HDMI LCD , why would you still opting for the elite . If the budget does constraint , I don't really see a point in it .

QUOTE(Xbox 360 @ Dec 8 2007, 03:44 PM) I was planning on using my 19" LCD for my older PC while the 27" for the Xbox 360 AND Windows Vista. I was told I could like "switch" between the two of them?? 120GB to store what ? You ain't got anything to download here (IP restrict and yada yada) + our "lightspeed" Streamyx line . The reason I'm going for the Elite is for the 120Gb hard drive and the less chance of getting 3ROD. And on top of that, for future purposes... Does DVI really make a difference to HDMI ? And even the elite somehow will get RROD'ed . Oh , and I'm damn agree with Guardian on how much you can save with the cheaper alternative . In fact , you can save alot in many aspect and the differences aren't big . |

QUOTE(Xbox 360 @ Dec 8 2007, 03:59 PM) Whoa... totally didn't expect that but thanks anyway. 1. Don't waste money on small display with Full HD Alright, let's put the sarcasm and 1080p rants of mine AWAY for good. I am really confused, frustrated and worse still, hope my money hadn't gone to waste and that is why I am here. (as for the Dell, like I said, I can put it on HOLD on Monday...) So here's the deal - - - 1. What is the price range of a full HD 1080p TV ? 2. What can I get for less than RM3k on a full HD 1080p TV ? [meaning: resolution and clarity] 3. What can I get for less than RM3k on a non full HD 1080p TV ? [meaning: resolution and clarity] 4. What would be the viewing area of answer No.2 or No. 3 if available at that price range ? I ask sincerely. 2. Don't waste money on small display with Full HD 3. There's no non full HD 1080p , 1080p is full HD . Other than 1080P , they're not Full HD 4. Again , Don't waste money on small display with Full HD For the fact that Full HD isn't necessary for 20inchers and not many games are natively rendered at 1080P , better forget about full HD . Unless of course , you can fork out the money for big-a$$ display with Full HD . You wish you can do that , but life isn't fair . Unless some miracle happened that your parents fully support you on it , or you won lottery . What am I blabbering about . |

Well , to Xbox360 aka thread starter , that Philips screen will makes a good purchase .
I liked the idea being family TV+gaming . Hell you get HD add-on for the 360 , or hook it up to any HD source and enjoy . I'm serious , no sarcastic here . Enjoy the purchase and your future 360 , those denying this and that again are just being jealous . |

There are some channel in HD though , like discovery channel lol .
IMO , normal signal from Astro is still watchable , albeit stretched a little and slightly pixelated at close. That's what I've observed from my relatives 40" HDTV displaying Astro . Certainly I believe no one sits close enough to the HDTV counting pixel right ? |
