Transformers 2 Title Refers To A New Character



Michael Bay has already promised there will be all sorts of new robot characters in the new Transformers movie, but what you probably didn’t know is that the title is a direct reference to one of them.

The full title of the film is Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. Apparently, that does not refer to the Decepticons getting revenge on the Autobots for kicking their ass in the first film. According to TFW “The Fallen” refers to a specific character.

The Transformers universe does already contain a robot named “The Fallen”. He appeared in some of the Transformers comic books, one of the thirteen original Transformers. He’s also not a very nice dude, and in the comics he escapes from his prison puts together an army, forcing the Autobots and the Decepticons to team up in order to fight him. If that’s the route Michael Bay is going, that could mean we’ll see Megatron and Optimus Prime fighting side by side in Transformers 2.

Identity of the Chevy Corvette in 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' Uncovered
The mysterious silver concept car will be Sideswipe, while Decepticon's saboteur Ravage has also been confirmed to be included in the sequel.

The questions surrounding the silver Chevy Corvette which has appeared in the production of "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" has been answered. Bringing an update report, TFW2005 let out that the Hasbro Licensing Summit 2008 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia unearthed the identity of the mysterious concept car as Sideswipe.

Sideswipe is one of the initial crew of Autobots who crash-landed on Earth million years ago. In the animated series, he is being reformatted into Lamborghini sports car. Apart from the Chevy Corvette, Hasbro Licensing Summit also revealed that Ravage, Soundwave's partner-in-crime, will be making its appearance in the "Transformers" sequel and it is described to be "having a very raw beast mode".

A sequel to the hit 2007 film "Transformers" about two clashing robot clans on Earth, "Revenge of the Fallen" is directed by Michael Bay and will see Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro reprising their roles once again. In this sequel, the heroes will be facing a stronger and more powerful villain, the Fallen, who forces them to bring back their foe Megatron to defeat him. The flick is due for June 26, 2009 release.

Anonymous in Alamogordo has provided a new set report from White Sands and a bunch of pictures of the Transformers vehicles. Sadly none of the new additions to the cast but some great images of Bumblebee, Ironhide, Optimus Prime and Ratchet.

The set report:
- The core cast is at the location, Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson
- Today they shot a fight scene at a desert set similar to one from the first movie.
- Extras on set comprised of various needs including a "Strike Force" and Jordanian soldiers.
- Heard rumor that Julie White and Kevin Dunn (Sam's parents) where also on the White Sands set.
- Additionally heard that TF2 may film in Ruidoso which is about 30 minutes from Alamogordo. Ruidoso is in the mountains surrounded by a dense forest.

Update: Turns out the Jordan theory is wrong. Based on info from the Entertainment Tonight set report (video here) it appears that White Sands is being used as Egypt for the purposes of the film. It is possible that the "Jordanian soldiers" extras is either to hide the Egyptian location or because Transformers production will later film in Jordan. The extras could be part of getting the scenes they need to tie the various locations together.

For the images, anonymous noted that Bumblebee looked closer to orange then yellow. Also the perimeter for pictures was around 20 feet as that is when the cars look best but he did notice a little paint chipping and smudges. As the photos show, if they are there I can't see them. On some of the photos there are attempts to remove some of the date stamps so they don't distract from the image.
