I see. If you thinking to buy 512MB Turbo version, I think u better go for 3870.

IMHO and from my experience,an Athlon X2 4000+@stock will bottleneck my 8800GTS 320mb which only score around 7k in 3dmark06....after i oc'ed my proc to 2.7ghz, my 3dmark06 score increase to 8k+ with SM2.0 and SM3.0 score increase alot..the same situation happens when i change my GC to 3870...from 2.1ghz to 2.7ghz give me around 10-15fps bonus in certain games such as company of heros
so i would say,current X2(even 6400+) proc will bottleneck any high end or top midrange graphic card which include 3870,8800GT and so on This post has been edited by noobianz: Dec 19 2007, 01:25 PM |

7686!!! ONLY??? my testbed AMD x2 4000 SAPPHIRE HD 3870 (776/1125) ~stock clock~ 2x Aeneon 1GB ddr2 800 Biostar TA 770 A2+

i've flashed the bios with the one found on this page: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?p=2638798 http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?p=5391413 before this, my card wouldn't do more than 730...now :

@naz- i think they r using Quad processor as their test bed for 3850
