would like to try OC my 3850 also..but afraid bout the temp... 

mine virgin too..no time to OC my 3850 as im concentrating on my X2. 

errr,why so hot ur gc when load?? whats ur fan rpm? mine when load i think not more than 60C only.. 

HIS didnt give u the software for ur GC? mine is Asus. They gave i think,3 softwares. 1 for Video,1 for in-game gc setting and the other 1,is for the setting of the GC. like u can set the fan rpm,the core & memory clock    From the software,i can set the fan rpm. dunno bout HIS brand though..

maybe u can try other 3rd party software? but i dunno what's the software since i havent tried one yet because i found that software given by Asus is more than what i need. 

so,change to Asus brand la bro...go sell ur HIS 3850..and grab Asus 3870! 

btw, im still waiting for anyone who have OCed their 3850 with stock cooler. wanna know the temp during full load and is there any big difference with stock core & mem clock... 

duhh..im using gbyte..any other way to change the fan speed?

yerp..but i set to 52% only..cuz when i set 65% fan speed n above..it bcome too noisy..

im using AcBel 450W. 

are u able to control the speed of ur fan yet? i've no idea about other software to control it since this is my first time im using the software given by asus. before this,all normal mid-end card...so,no need to control the fan. 

i've tried yesterday. max temp hit when i stress the gc is around 67-68C.  fan speed 100% if temp is more than 65C. 
core clock is 700mhz, memory clock is 2000mhz. tested with NFS ProStreet,Crysis,FIFA08...All good. Nvr reach the 68C temp when playing games.

yeaa...thats what im thinking ..but then,i think its my ram that limit the score. dun have any idea,but logically,my proc & mobo is good,so should be the ram that limits my gc...(correct me if im wrong)

surely cpu ler.. mine also 10k when using 3ghz.. if not suffers 2-3k...
that's why i waiting for phenom to see the difference.. expecting 12k..

with current cpu.. oc gpu also no use.. this 3870 is overkill..

yesterday flashed with latest bios.. very good one.. fan speed fixed.. onload 60C not like before reaching 8+C
