if it really work , i dont mind, modification on casing can be done, as long as i didnt waste the PSU.. and my acbel 550w doesnt have the 8pin socket for the GC for 9800GX2..

can be done....u just need to know how (not that hard oso anyway...just google)

as for the 8pin....saw a review on the net for the zotac 9800GX2 and it came for the molex-8pin and molex-6pin converter. so dont need to worry...

if it were me id probably get a strider 400w for all the other components and use the acbel for the GC only tongue.gif

if ur running single GX2 then i guess the other way round is fine as well biggrin.gif

where to put the other psu..
if using full tower then it's not a problem..
the only way think is to invest in a high end psu brows.gif

For whatever reason the retention clip on top of the 8-pin connector is too wide, and blocked by the chassis on the GX2. I took out six power supplies to verify if their 8-pin connector would fit on the GX2, among them SLI certified products .. only the Enermax Galaxy 1000 Watt PSU connectors was able to fit properly, and that's just crazy

Haha..this word will kill alot ppl dream to get this 9800GX2

BFG inserted a 8-pin converter cable to bypass this problem ... and Murphy's law kicked in completely, that one didn't fit either. Now our sample is from an early batch, only 50 of these boards + 8-pin cable where shipped out, the new batches have that final (proper) 8-pin cable. But fact is, without that 8-pin feed, your card is not going to work.

i doubt any of that 50 will reach malaysia

souce from gamespot:
Nvidia recommends using a 580W power supply with a single card and 850W for two GX2s running in SLI. XFX recommends 630W or more for a single GX2 and 680W or more for an SLI configuration

What the hack is this.....800W also hard to push this monster le they still say 600W

PSU is not just about total wattage. You have rails and amp to consider about as well. It's time for Corsair HX1000W.

wonder y they didnt use 8800gts g92 SLI to compare... in some games, the 8800gt SLI also beat the gx2... disappointing... sad.gif

Because GX2 is two 8800GTS G92 sandwiched together, technically from the specs.

but then it would be very interested to see that... maybe the gx2 will lose the GTS SLI...

imo the g92 gts SLI will beat the gx2 and i dont think gts SLI also need that much power...

Still early to judge. Drivers aren't quite optimized for GX2 yet. GX2 should perform better. And SLI efficiency with 80% more is back on track in 9 series.

suprisingly GX2 power consumption is rather well controller compare to X2, thumbs up for nvidia.........

btw guru3d did mention this monster need some psu with 35A per 12 volt rail to power it, this might be problem for some
