QUOTE(Core_Trace(R) @ Jan 10 2008, 06:05 PM) what are u waiting for...according to the rumours, geforce 9 series cards also use g92 chip... so what's the point in waiting "next gen" offering from nvidia when they're just recycling their old gpus btw, still deciding whether to wait for geforce 9, or g92 8800gts |

QUOTE(tkh_1001 @ Feb 14 2008, 07:14 PM) go for 8800gt if u are not looking at high-end 9series like 9800X2..9600gt is just a mid-range card to replace 8600gts... yup 9600gt is only armed with 64 sp...cannot fight with 8800gt with 112sp.. if 9600gt start selling @ rm600.. then it's better just to save a little bit of ur money and get the 8800gt.. it's a very good card at stock plus it can be overclocked well too This post has been edited by ben_panced: Feb 14 2008, 07:22 PM |

QUOTE(Quincy @ Feb 19 2008, 11:38 PM) Is there any other brand besides asus and msi for 9600gt that already out at lowyat? hmm after looking at the benchies, the 9600gt might be good too..Im going to lowyat this saturday to buy new rig. Was thinking either 9600gt or 8800gt. So what you guys think? should I take 9600 or 8800? Budget for GC around rm700. even better than 3870.. initially i thought this card's performance is behind the 3850 because of the 4 ROPS and 64 SPs.. |

QUOTE(Quincy @ Feb 19 2008, 11:46 PM) I too was thinking to buy 9600gt, but if the price like rm700, better topup a bit to buy 8800gt? Saw someone bulk inno3d and pny 88gt at around 790. yup if the current 96gt price is rm700.. then u're better off buying 8800gt..but if 96gt is selling for rm400.. i want to buy 2 to play with sli |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Feb 20 2008, 10:07 PM) not really... if a single 9800GX2 is more powerful than GT or GTS512 SLI....imagine what kinda power a 9800GX2 SLI would have... but i inclined to say that 9800gx2 is indeed 2xG92..besides... all the specs out on the internet right now is not official and are just hearsay and rumors....nuttin confirmed. NVIDIA has not mentioned anything about the 9800GX2. not even a possible release date. for all u know the 9800GX2 might not even be based on the G92. until an official announcement comes out from NVIDIA themselves... its just purely speculation right now. so well just wait and see. besides, rite now nvidia is currently busy developing their next-gen chip to fight with rv770.. some rumours suggest that the new chip's code name will be gt200.. but it's just rumours la take with a pinch of salt |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Feb 20 2008, 10:36 PM) i would agree that itll most likely be G92.... but like u said lor... rumors... yup that's the smartest way so ill just wait for confirmation...then wait for release...then wait for other people to try out and see if there are any problems... etc etc then only decide to buy |

QUOTE(skylinegtr34rule4life @ Feb 26 2008, 02:05 PM) go ahead. new things always comes with big performance boost. so i presume there wont be any 9800GTS in the production line since 8800GTS G92 is indeed 9800GTS. the 9800gtx also uses g92 but different revision la..current g92 card is g92-400 while the "new" g92 is g92-450 |

QUOTE(ryudox @ Feb 28 2008, 11:16 AM) i thought 9800GX2 using separate PCB for each core which mean it has 2 PCB sandwiched but using the same heatsink..am i rite? the first card using 2 cores in 1 PCB is 3870X2... no la 98gx2 dont use the same heatsink..the heatsink will be separate, but it will covered by a big shroud |

QUOTE(ham_revilo @ Mar 10 2008, 05:51 PM) yeah... if u do the math... 1 680i mobo and maybe 2 8800GTS, the price i think may be almost the same with the 9800GX2 when it is out... so safe all the hassle and get a 9800GX2 will be much better... furthermore performance wise i think should be almost the same (correct me if im wrong)... the drawback will be the temp..2 g92 chips sharing 1 hsf... nvidia should design their card like amd.. using only 1 pcb |
