QUOTE(evoHahn @ Dec 26 2007, 11:34 AM)

seriously, real F1 cars have antenna on the nose cone. This measure air speed and broadcast car telemetry to the pits. Most F1 drivers use the antenna as corner and braking marker in absence of such marking on the track.

to reduce the bugging-ness, simply raise your in-game seat higher and further back.

Wow, there's another adjustment I hadn't seen in MAPPINGS...
WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
Sitting so high now that I can see there are two antennas.

I must've changed that setting without noticing a while ago, that's why I though this track seemed way too flat and objects couldn't be seen fast enough to react. My seat was adjusted at lowest setting. doh.gif

Thank you Evo! thumbup.gif

I've just done a 1:09.555 shocking.gif

The antenna may not bother some but it sure did bother me because my seat was too low, I changed the setting and I was not aware I did. While my seat was at lowest possible position, the track looked so much flatter, making braking references very difficult, add to that 2 antennas that combined to look like one tall fat antenna, enough to block cars and braking marks far enough in front, a real problem flat out in both stretches at indy.

As mentioned before by Evo and then me, raising the seat has solved this issue. Mirrors had to be adjusted horizontally AND vertically. Perfect view now.

Sorry if I started something stupid, not my intention.

Added on December 27, 2007, 3:33 pmNow, back to my 12 setups with which I start slipping somewhere between 8 and 12 laps as tires near 120 degrees.

I've finally settled on one setup for Indy. One goal only, finish the race, i just don't care about the podium, monitoring tire temp continually the whole race demands too much from me. I used to love this track, but not with this mod.

Checked again, I wasn't at the lowest setting because you can't see the track anymore at lowest setting possible. Still , it was too low for subtle things, some of these adjustments are easily changeable by mistake without noticing.

For those who want to adjust it s the [ key for up, and the ' key for down.

Don t forget to tweak you r mirrors after!

How the heck they manage to have such control when not looking at the direction of the car from behind the wheel but constantly from different angles, insane. blink.gif

Save our replays?

That was a beautiful flip/accident at 1st corner, I just went through hoping the car wouldn't come to the left of the track and made it.

I named it Malaysian Sim Racers

You should find it if you refresh server list, not by IP address ( 125.27.28.59).

I'm trying to figure out how to make practice periods last longer. Presently 20 minutes only. icon_question.gif

Brianza, now there's a track with good FFB!
I couldn't believe the difference from Indy to Brianza, I run 100% and full FFB. Indy felt like a "carpenter's delight" (flat chested woman) laugh.gif

Mara, I tried twice to connect to your server, circuit splash screen appears, then chat window shows but no Penzman entered the race, no driver showing, no LOAD RACE as well, game seems to crash. I opened same circuit TEST RACE, no problem.

Great quality F1 footage I had never seen before. drool.gif
More on the menu on the right of that page.

Watch it here

Gotta love it, in one of the black and white videos, a Ferrari is at the pit, guy bangs at the wheel with a hammer, then waves him to go go go! laugh.gif

Is someone hosting Monza?

Wouldn't mind hosting myself but I keep going in circles trying to figure out why practice sessions are only 20 minutes long by default.
