email to trymedia to get new key.
You should have 5 keys in reserve if you try to renew.
Make sure you back up the next one you use.
I used up all of mine because I was switching between versions, I explained to them and they renewed 5 more for me.
Here the email.
Query: Since there are different server versions out there,
I like to keep rfactor 1.250 on drive C and 1.255F on drive D, this way
I can connect to more servers.
Problem is when I alternate between the sim on C or D, I am asked to
renew license every time.
My renewals have now expired, none left...
What to do?
========================================
We have restored your activations to the original number and there is no
charge for additional activations.
You can use the same activation code for multiple versions of rFactor,
but will experience some complications.
If you use a single operating system and switch between different
versions (i.e. 1150 and 1255) then a relicense will be forced and the
*.lcn license file is modified (keeping the same filename) to reflect to
most recently used version. The reason is that the two different
versions of the game are packaged with two different versions of
ActiveMARK and the system was not intended to be used in this manner.
In order to work around this limitation, you can backup different
versions of the license file, and then manually swap the license files
depending on the version of rFactor you are going to play. This will
keep you from having to relicense and request renewals. The manner in
which you do this is up to you as this is not a method of operation we
support. You may find making a batch file to swap license files will
help you to automate the process.
you can find the *.lcn file in:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Trymedia\licenses
Kind regards,
Dave
