Deleted my test folder for rFactor and copied my existing 1250 installation and pasted in a new test installation folder.

I then applied 1255F upgrade and THEN "Anything to v1.7" update for fsOne. Even after connecting successfuly to the temp MSR 1255f server with fsone 1.7, my fsone splash screen still shows 1.52.

ANyone know why?
I have started a race weekend to see if the change would apply, nope.

A Fairy Driver? shocking.gif

I was on the server, in the 3rd sector, had just gone under the bridge in 6th gear flat when I saw what I'll call "The Fairy Driver".

The Fairy Driver went right past me impossibly fast at about 500 km/h and followed a prefect line entering into the last sector. It looked like a ghost driver suspended in mid-air, mostly the helmet visible and glowing, surrounded and followed by a trail of sparks. Like something out of an animated Disney movie. blink.gif

Matchmaker ip tool shows server with 4 players, I join, only Dzariq is showing, i can type but see no chat text, no garage or load race button.

Strange day.

Need advice to make donation to MSR.

Easiest way to do this from here in Thailand?

I remember someone mentioned he worked at a bank, maybe he can help?
I did see AC numbers on page 1 but am afraid your average bank teller's usual reaction here would simply see such a transaction as sending a man on the moon. rolleyes.gif

It's late huh?
I couldn't sleep shocking.gif , was lying in bed and thinking about the over-heating tire problem I can't seem to solve.

Seems when we began on Silverstone, tires were ok, did many laps, was always one of the fastest, and one day, all of a sudden, overheating tires with any setup I try... Also I discovered that my SPEED SENSITIVITY was set to 60% when I've known well for a few years that it should be 0 or 1%. I just couldn't drive that evening, same evening I saw the "Fairy Driver" wiz by at an impossible speed. Can we get hacked???

I've tried setups from past races, nothing. In Barcelona I was overheating the tires but can't remember how I fixed the problem with setup but I also slowed down slightly in long 2nd corner, I still have the setup, tried at Silverstone, over-heating tires are back. mad.gif

I've been googling for fs one and over-heating tires, didn't find much.

When did the car bottoming out (sparks) begin? After we went to 1552 or 1.8?

Found some mention of over-heating on MMG, I think it was Phil Sousa simply blaming the track for hot tires. Funny thing is, I rarely ever got overheat messages from the spotter before...

After trying camber, toe in/out, compound, wings, I'm totally lost on this one. sad.gif

Amazing project huh?

Anyone know what helicopter game was shown?
Seems much improved from my all time favorite Comanche 4.

I ve tried soft and medium. Same same.

I'm thinking maybe it's a change made by new physics and my actual car setup based on previous car setups from past races (and previous versions) have some setting really wrong that just can't cut it with the new updates maybe.

I played with Anti-Roll bar a little, makes a difference.
What really helped was lateral weight distribution! A setting I had never touched before. Since it's a clockwise circuit, I set it to 49L 51 R and immediately saw a difference of at least 3 degrees less at first lap for the front left tire. I don't see much difference in how the car behaves by shifting weight to the right.

RonMD...
Didn't we talk before on Skype? Haron?
You were laughing when I cracked my throttle pedal. biggrin.gif

Fun test race tonight rclxms.gif

Good start, I did not see or hear any accidents at the 1st corner.

Pitt in front, Ryugan, me.
Ryugan took the S a bit wide, passed him.
Went like this for a while, I managed to pass Pitt after a while.
Then I spun in last corner, Pitt passed but he burned his engine later on. icon_idea.gif 1st again.

I had to pit at 15 laps, forgot to set for 20 laps. I sped in pit. BEWARE, 1st pit line is the one, not the one nearer to garages.

I ended up stopping in pit 4 times in all. mad.gif Penalty for speeding at 1st pit , sped at stop and go again, and again, then i got 2 red arrows over a black flag, I stopped again at pit crew but nothing happened and flag stayed there..., they changed tires and fuel, maybe I had to stop at the light??? I think I was on last lap after that, i did not stop and got DQ at end of lap 20 doh.gif , by that time Kimi (1)and Soze(2) were right behind.

Looked at the replay and saw a spectacular accident when we encountered RonMD with Ryugan and Pitt behind me, we encountered RonMD before the S I barely passed ,rYugan rear ended him, Pitt behind saw a cloud of smoke and went through ok. Quite a sight from Pitt's car, rYugan went flying and spinning up in the air while Ron spun on to the grass. sweat.gif

Some very interesting developments and comments from P. Sousa and FS ONE, he's moved on to rFactor. There are comments about 2006 physics and wrong front wheel size, car designed too low, etc.

Read it here

Anyone have a good link to paint my helmet?
I have a template and Photoshop CS.
I can also modify the existing one in rFactor?

I just tested 16 laps on soft.
Indicator turns yellow after about 9 laps I think but tires are ok for at least another 7 or 8 laps.
Just watch so that tire temp never exceeds 123 degrees or so.
I could go faster but above that temperature they get slippery.
I had to learn to drive a bit less aggressively but still manage steady 1:21-22, a few 23 when temp goes up.
Crucial for tight corners.

First 16 lap test I was kicked I think after 14 laps doh.gif , I was still online when connection to server was lost.

I'm going to try and transfer funds for server usage tomorrow.

Test race I had soft and boost 4 but tonight decided 3 is enough, I'll use more maybe if Pitt and Mara are buzzing around like flies. laugh.gif Smack!

For the overheating tires, I was desperate and going nowhere, I really didn't know what to do, was also changing too many settings at once instead of gradually one at a time.
I've created a monster using parts of mine and Evo's Nurburg setup.

Thanks evoHahn. notworthy.gif

Had fun chasing Sober tonight, so close that his parks were blinding me at times. blink.gif

Ron was hard at work. thumbup.gif

Talk about simulation. I'm busy in the pit here with my pedals spiking again sweat.gif , cleaning, greasing up and adding a new sponge inside, the old one is too compressed and doesn't prevent the p[ots from moving anymore.

email to trymedia to get new key.
*
You should have 5 keys in reserve if you try to renew.
Make sure you back up the next one you use.
I used up all of mine because I was switching between versions, I explained to them and they renewed 5 more for me.

Here the email.

Query: Since there are different server versions out there,
I like to keep rfactor 1.250 on drive C and 1.255F on drive D, this way
I can connect to more servers.

Problem is when I alternate between the sim on C or D, I am asked to
renew license every time.

My renewals have now expired, none left...

What to do?

========================================

We have restored your activations to the original number and there is no
charge for additional activations.

You can use the same activation code for multiple versions of rFactor,
but will experience some complications.

If you use a single operating system and switch between different
versions (i.e. 1150 and 1255) then a relicense will be forced and the
*.lcn license file is modified (keeping the same filename) to reflect to
most recently used version. The reason is that the two different
versions of the game are packaged with two different versions of
ActiveMARK and the system was not intended to be used in this manner.

In order to work around this limitation, you can backup different
versions of the license file, and then manually swap the license files
depending on the version of rFactor you are going to play. This will
keep you from having to relicense and request renewals. The manner in
which you do this is up to you as this is not a method of operation we
support. You may find making a batch file to swap license files will
help you to automate the process.

you can find the *.lcn file in:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Trymedia\licenses

Kind regards,

Dave

tq kimi. a great home win for mclaren..  rclxm9.gif  .had a good fair race with penzman...i think if u not make mistakes..u would be in 2nd position.

Yup, car was behaving weird at one point and opened the door wide with a few spins for Pitt to take 2nd place, we were bumper to bumper until last corner in last lap and I spun cry.gif , I would have put boost at 10 and zipped by but, oh well, that `s for another race. brows.gif

First podium, actually first finished race ever with MSR! thumbup.gif My connection was obviously fine tonight. I was exhausted after the race, body shaking, full of adrenaline. Celebrated with the rare consumption of 1 beer. No spraying like champagne.

my engine bomb last nite tak tau what wrong also suddenly je, i didnt rev hard also , just tot relax drive n finish the race.. what the reason engine bomb normaly?

is it i boost at 7 all da time?
*
I was on boost 3 for the whole race, rad 4.
I would have used more boost near the end but I got confused somehow about how many laps were left in the race by looking at the amount of liters of fuel left instead and I thought there were still 9 laps to go, must be the stress. rclxub.gif

I reved a lot in 5th, I noticed in the race that 5th gear was a bit too short, reved a lot in 7th when fuel was low, still no burned engine like happened a few times before.

Montreal track seems so narrow compared to other versions I've raced before.
