Hi, i am newbie here. i am from australia. I got a skyline v35 2004 more than a year and studied for 3 years at there, planning to back malaysia after graduate. Can anyone tell me how much do i need to pay for the tax? and can AP apply in this situation?
1. Lazy to calculate.... all you really need is the original price of the car when new/manufactured.
2. Yes.

the car juz arrive at port yesterday,
now the fowarding agent still in progress of applying the AP,
will update later + pics....
AP application should be done long before arrival, as it takes approx. 2 weeks ..... unless of course with money lubrication to speed through the channels.

Assuming your skyline is a 250GT/GT Four

At 5 years old, the tax is at RM 23,937 add 2 more years of depreciation

Hi

I am a Malaysia citizen that has just moved back to Malaysia, having been assured by an agent that there would be no tax to pay if I imported by car (using AP). However, I have now seen this website and I am quite distressed as actually it looks like there may well be significant tax to pay after all.

My car is an Audi A4 3.2 sport cabriolet, first registered in Jan2007. Not listed in the usual car value guides although the agent has listed the value on the JK69 as about RM130k. What would I have to pay based on these parameters?

If I can't afford the tax, what happens to the car (it is already in transit)? Does it get returned back to the previous country?

Thanks in advance

If you have through MITI obtained a permission to bring/buy car tax free as a returning professional in the required field. exmple: PhD. holder with 2 years working experience.

Kind of steep 29k... a good excuse/reason is the high Yen value now for personal appeal.... good luck.

9 months ownership.... if you want to go through the the right channel, without paying for "extra (under) services".... less months if goes through agent for which "budakhops" has experience in that.

You'll need the new car price without any tax associated to it to calculate the tax you'll need to pay. Car exceeding 5yo should have a much lower tax.

Commercial AP cannot bring in cars exceeding 5 yo, while Personel AP can... even very classic cars.

Yoroshiku....

Tax, rough guess 20k (I'm too lazy to search/reference/calculate)

Shipping to West Mal? Port Kelang?..... 20ft container cost around RM4 to 4.5k... Port handling roughly: RM1 to 1.3k..... these are the major costs if you want to do it yourself..... Agent may charge you RM1 to 2k, for roughly a day (or 2)'s work, port/kastam/MITI/JPJ/Puspakom.

What about if i bring a 2002 Honda Fit/Jazz?? Much more cheaper right?
