so next year second hand drop 40%?
how to sell? u pay for the battery with the loan, its single payment during signing . only the d/p follow body price . so buyer no choice to continue all the way until tenure ends otherwise prepare to burn the money .unless they have a clause for exit policy upon early termination

DOA, should've priced at 50k for body and rm300 baas monthly then only makes sense. might as well get the seal6 or atto 2 which is still cheaper than this and include battery
At max 65k and BaaS around RM150/mth..
Now this EV won't be Perodua normally target mass customers.
For those can afford and willingly to buy, there are a lot better choice with similar price range and maybe higher spec.
But if they can change/add in and ICE...and selling at RM80k or below.. then

Not sure where the powertrain came from unless I misread it, but the platform is developed with Magna Steyr
Battery is from CATL
Currently there's no Daihatsu EV for reference also.
magna steyr is sort of engineering consultant, it still need some manufacturer to produce the powertrain

100% for scratch is last time what Proton did with gen 2 and saga blm
800 million is not enough even that time

Getting Started
Have to kudo to P2 willing to go local this time for EV, unlike Proton that just reselling China rebadge car... But I think one of the reason also could be due to Daihatsu also don't have EV yet? Just stay in concept stage since 2022 so nothing to copy over yet. Anyway, this QVE is just a starting point and hope P2 can gain momentum from there.

I would be wary about this car. Sorry to say but brand new homologation cannot take so fast. Unless they not from scratch, all recycle.

EV development is faster, easier and cheaper than ICE
It's one of the reasons why China automotive industry skip ICE and go all in on EV
And why you can see so many new brands with EV even if they never made a car before

Perodua got help from Magna Steyr.
Magna is like one stop centre for car design, etc.
They have car designs, etc in stock and car manufacturers can get purchased from them.

https://www.magna.com/company/company-infor...ups/magna-steyr Yep macam OEM choose parts and systems then kasi pasang
that's why P2 keep just emphasizing they "own the IP"
probably most of the core stuff they buy from Magna and their supply chains, but they paid so they "own" whatever resulting design IP.
The 50%+ local content i think is almost everything else other than the core parts, still can make up more than 50% since EV less parts owai
