dont really get the point of the whole battery service thingy
why not just be simple and include the cost of the battery with the car just like every other EV? it's not like Nio's version of swappable battery also
unless there's a chance in the future to upgrade to a larger battery for more range, dont really see the point of this

one look at the interior and you know those plastics gonna be typical cheap Perodua type..... 80k for this?
and dont really get the point of the whole battery service thingy
why not just be simple and include the cost of the battery with the car just like every other EV? initially i thought this is something like Nio's swappable battery, but no?
unless there's a chance in the future to upgrade to a larger battery for more range, dont really see the point of this

QUOTE(kevintth @ Dec 1 2025, 11:42 AM) pros and cons... for this EV. pros.. .car cheaper.. so of coz insurance cover (only car exclude battery) also lesser, resale value is higher lor. any tong gua taufu to the battery is cover by perodua. car exterior design is nice. Running range is longer. cons... battery need to lease per month, expensive compare to others. interior not so nice, screen so small... if add up total cost is more expensive than others. smell like this ev will fail the only pro for me is the exterior design really nice.... for a local car, this I really give credits to them other than that dont see any reason why must get this EV instead of others.... I think if they use this design and rebadge some Toyota model like BZ4x maybe reception would be better... but Toyota probably don't allow kek, and Daihatsu don't have EV

QUOTE(jutamind @ Dec 1 2025, 12:01 PM) At least the body design is the most outstanding of all P2 models. Hope they can bring this body design for new Myvi Gen4 to cut development cost Correct the only pros for this EV to me is that it proves our local designers still can come out with some decent design (some say they copy paste from several other designs but wtv.... every car brand doing this now)

QUOTE(desmond2020 @ Dec 1 2025, 12:21 PM) QV-E got the access to Japan EV tech I guess, but that is second tier technology compare to china EV pay 100k plus, get car body only, without battery and second tier technology damn son Not sure where the powertrain came from unless I misread it, but the platform is developed with Magna Steyr Battery is from CATL Currently there's no Daihatsu EV for reference also.

QUOTE(desmond2020 @ Dec 1 2025, 01:31 PM) that is BS fast and cheap 100% for scratch is last time what Proton did with gen 2 and saga blm 800 million is not enough even that time EV development is faster, easier and cheaper than ICE It's one of the reasons why China automotive industry skip ICE and go all in on EV And why you can see so many new brands with EV even if they never made a car before This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Yesterday, 01:44 PM

QUOTE(GOPI56 @ Dec 1 2025, 01:43 PM) Perodua got help from Magna Steyr. Magna is like one stop centre for car design, etc. They have car designs, etc in stock and car manufacturers can get purchased from them. https://www.magna.com/company/company-infor...ups/magna-steyrDid Perodua mention where the induction motor came from?

QUOTE(GOPI56 @ Dec 1 2025, 02:00 PM) Not sure on that, batteries are from CATL. the mysterious part... we know chassis is from Magna, battery from CATL. but the the 2 other most important component for EV - the motor and BMS is unknown This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Yesterday, 02:04 PM
