sounds like landlord want to profit more, or just want to chase you out by unreasonable rent price

in the end, in the eyes of the lardlord it's still business

In most TA, normally the rental increase is max at 10% of current rent.

700 means your current rental 5 - 7k per month ?

You sure B or T 🫣

If that the case, then better to look for another place.

This is the disadvantage of being a renter.

Why didn't apply to buy govt housing ?

No need to stress about it.
Go find another unit to rent.
Good tenants are hard to find but your landlord thinks otherwise.

Why don't you check the current market prices around the same area? If you can't find anything within your existing rent levels, then you could either negotiate with your existing landlord for a new rental price based on your market research or you start searching elsewhere?

Seems like online not much property listed around my area, need to start looking around at notice board around my area to call and ask. The tenant already hinting they want rm1.7k, but not yet final, if increase RM100 ok la, but if increase a lot, like RM300 I will consider move somewhere else le

U tell her, u remove me, u find new tenant also need One month. Rugi 1 month rent already kan. Then if u find agent, agent take one month commission also. Rugi 2 months Liao. Worth it meh

Deal for rm1.2k, fair for all. Or, try survey same building for other units

the most important question is "do you think it's really easy to find new people rent"

the place that i currently lived in, that answer is a big no....if i leave, he would be spending prolly years to find new tenant
so that question will determine how much leverage you have to negotiate or else find another place to stay

other questions to ask would be
1. do you pay your rent early every month
2. do you clear your utilities bill every month/when it came

all this will give u leverage to counter back her
