Grand Theft Auto - Vice City
High settings playable on my Dell Inspiron 1420 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 @ 1.50GHz Memory: 1.50GB 667MHz DDR2-SDRAM Graphic: NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS (128MB DDR3) Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 OEM (Dell) Drivers: Microsoft DirectX 9.0c (Nov 2007), NVIDIA ForceWare G86 v156.19 WHQL XP Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is a sandbox-style action-adventure computer and video game designed by Rockstar North (formerly DMA Design) and published by Rockstar Games. It is the second 3D game in the Grand Theft Auto video game franchise and fourth original title overall. It debuted in North America on October 27, 2002 for the PlayStation 2 and quickly became the best-selling video game for that year. As of July 2006, Vice City was, in the American market, the best-selling PlayStation 2 game of all time. Vice City also appeared on Japanese magazine Famitsu's readers' list of all-time favorite 100 videogames in 2006. Following this success, Vice City saw releases in Europe, Australia and Japan, and became available on the PC. Rockstar Vienna also packaged the game with its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto III, and sold it as Grand Theft Auto: Double Pack for the Xbox. Vice City was succeeded by Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Vice City draws much of its inspiration from 1980s culture. Set in 1986, the story revolves around Mafia member Tommy Vercetti, who was recently released from prison. After being involved in a drug deal gone wrong, Tommy is forced to seek out those responsible. Throughout the game, Tommy forges out a criminal empire in Vice City, gradually obtaining contacts, running businesses and seizing power from the other criminal organizations present in the city. The game uses a tweaked version of the game engine used in Grand Theft Auto III and similarly presents a huge cityscape, fully populated with buildings (from hotels to skyscrapers), vehicles (cars, motorcycles, boats, helicopters) and people to explore. Vice City's setting is also revisited in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, which serves as a prequel to events in Vice City. [from wikipedia] » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

Deus Ex - Invisible War
High settings playable on my Dell Inspiron 1420 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 @ 1.50GHz Memory: 1.50GB 667MHz DDR2-SDRAM Graphic: NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS (128MB DDR3) Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 OEM (Dell) Drivers: Microsoft DirectX 9.0c (Nov 2007), NVIDIA ForceWare G86 v156.19 WHQL XP Deus Ex: Invisible War is a first-person computer and video game developed by Ion Storm Inc. and published by Eidos Interactive. Released simultaneously for Windows and the Xbox video game console on December 2, 2003, the game is a sequel to the critically acclaimed Deus Ex. Invisible War was well-received critically and commercially, holding 80 and 84 scores at Metacritic for the Windows and Xbox versions, respectively, and selling more than 300,000 copies in North America. Despite this the game's critical reception was not as positive as its predecessor's - for example, PC Gamer gave Deus Ex a score of 94%, while Invisible War received an 83%. This was due to a large number of controversial design choices, which led certain critics to label the game as being dumbed down from its predecessor. Invisible War takes place twenty years after Deus Ex, in a world being rebuilt after a catastrophic event called The Collapse. Following a terrorist attack that destroys the city of Chicago, the player assumes the role of Alex D, a trainee at the fictional Tarsus Academy, whose support is sought by several organizations. As the game progresses, the player learns of conspiratorial factions which seek to drastically change the world. Invisible War was designed to allow player choice in both plot and gameplay, with branching plot lines and emergent gameplay elements. This freedom of choice was widely praised by critics. Need for Speed: Carbon was first shown in EA's montage at Nintendo's E³2006 conference and booth and was the cover story in the Game Informer magazine issue of July 2006. Carbon is the first in the Need for Speed series to be released for all seventh generation consoles. Carbon features some of cars of its predecessors; namely Need for Speed Underground 2 and Need for Speed Most Wanted, but also incorporates many new additions including the Audi R8 Road Car (called Le Mans Quattro in-game), the Chrysler 300C SRT 8, Chevrolet's Chevelle SS and the Toyota MR2 Spyder. Carbon features the Canadian actress and model Emmanuelle Vaugier as Nikki, the player's main source of help and ally in the Career storyline. The PSP, Nintendo DS, and Game Boy Advance versions of the game are called Need For Speed Carbon: Own the City, still set in Palmont City however with a totally different storyline. The game is now available for use with Mac OS X. Need for Speed: Carbon debuted at number one on the UK All Format Gaming Chart on its first week of release, beating Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer. Carbon utilizes the same gameplay engine as with its predecessor, Most Wanted. [from wikipedia] » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

Tron 2.0
High settings playable on my Dell Inspiron 1420 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 @ 1.50GHz Memory: 1.50GB 667MHz DDR2-SDRAM Graphic: NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS (128MB DDR3) Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 OEM (Dell) Drivers: Microsoft DirectX 9.0c (Nov 2007), NVIDIA ForceWare G86 v156.19 WHQL XP Tron 2.0 is a computer game developed by Monolith Productions. It is a sequel to the 1982 motion picture Tron. The PC version of the game was released by Buena Vista Games on August 26, 2003. The Mac version was released by MacPlay on April 21, 2004.The game is a first person shooter set "inside" a computer in the same sense as the original movie. It cheerfully uses and abuses computing conventions; players will find themselves in the flaming red environment of a firewall and the minimalistic white one of a PDA, battle viruses while fleeing a format, and wield a sniper rifle known as the LOL. A light cycle mini-game is included as part of the plot as well as available in multiplayer mode across a network. In the game, Bruce Boxleitner reprises his role from the original movie as Alan Bradley. Cindy Morgan, who also starred in the original movie, voices the new character Ma3a. Rebecca Romijn (credited as Rebecca Romijn-Stamos) provides the voice of Mercury. A new Light Cycle design was contributed to the game by Syd Mead. In addition to the Mac, the game was also ported to the Xbox with significant changes to the single and, especially, the multiplayer modes. The Xbox version is entitled Tron 2.0 Killer App. Changes to the single player mode include optional jumping sequences, and overall console-tailored controls. The real changes were made to the multiplayer modes. Added is up to sixteen player multiplayer disc arena, light cycles, or overRide modes for system link or Xbox Live. The new overRide mode allows for first person mayhem with the ability to ride light cycles at any time. There is also a version of Tron 2.0 Killer App for the Game Boy Advance that has different story and gameplay from its Xbox counterpart. The Gizmondo version has apparently been cancelled. The idea of Tron 2.0 was originally explored as a movie concept, but it was eventually decided to focus first on making it as a game. The Tron sequel film has recently been announced, and production is expected to begin soon. A four-issue Tron 2.0 comic book series based on the game was going to be released by 88 MPH Studios, but was cancelled before the first issue was completed due to licensing issues with Disney. However, Slave Labor Graphics is now producing a Tron comic book sequel series called Tron: The Ghost in the Machine. [from wikipedia] » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

HellRyzer,
I have a suggestion. It's hard to keep a thread clean without any comments or posts. There are tons of threads created with similar intention, like the workstation thread. So I suggest you list down all the games frontpage, and links them to specific post on this thread. That will be more helpful. So whenever any regulars forumer or even newcomers can get benefit just simply by going to frontpage, rather than scrolling all the page from 1 to say hundreds (I imagine this thread will get lots of attention). For example: *Updated*: Lara Croft bla bla Game list: bla bla bla (HellRyzer) bla bla bla 2 (whoever it is) Specs: HellRyzer (8400m) spoiler list down detail specs such as ram and cpu or even OC /spoiler Whoever it is (8xxxm) spoiler whoever it is specs details / spoiler that is basically my suggestion. QUOTE(stevenlee @ Nov 26 2007, 02:20 PM) today i go to dell vostro...i found quite a bargaining vostro for gaming... This specific question for laptop gaming is perfectly being asked here. It's a great offer from Dell. Just phone and buy, if you're looking for a dedicated graphic under tight budget. But if you want more style and trendy you should opt an Inspiron 1420 instead (webcam good for gaming clans).spec as below C2D T5270 1.4GHZ 2MB CACHE 800 MHZ FSB 14.4 WIDE SCREEN TRUE LIFE 512 RAM ->PROBABLY THIS IS THE BAD THING BUT NOW RAM DAMM CHEAP 160 GB 8X DVDRW NV 8400M GS 128MB drool.gif COST RM 2329 drool.gif (AFTER -DELIVERY AND REBATE) FREE DELIVERY + ONLINE REBATE RM350 PRO: GOOD FOR CURRENT GAMING LIGHTWEIGHT CON: NO WEBCAM BLACK COLOUR VERY NORMAL...... It would be good to have backup isn't it? Also, for some other unforeseen reason if I suddenly dissappear from this community We'll do this LowYatians! Yeah I'll get my laptop as soon as I can so as for now I pretty much couldn't contribute anything yet. There is new leak pages, that might give some hints. European brand rock or something has launched theirs for orders, and said to be delivered somewhere in December. I haven't yet heard any news from AW. So we'll see. Plus AW will be among the early birds that supply 8800gtx so I pretty have nothing to worry about as for now. Dissappear huh? I assume ur not a student (for some reasons I don't know why) so what else could bring u to disappear? Nah it will not be ur personal topic, I am here to defend you LOL. but seriously, u need more contribution like u mention. I guess we need a starter like u to spark any potential interests and volunteer. So it's up to u. I have nothing against it. This post has been edited by derred: Nov 26 2007, 02:40 PM |

actually I'm looking to get rid of my current rig (as in my siggy) and get a laptop instead. I'm always travel between my home and college in Penang and it is dmn annoying to take the whole rig (speaker.. casing.. keyboard.. LCD etc..etc..) but at the same time I dun wan to miss the performance I'm enjoying with my rig right now
I know its impossible to have such laptops at such a low price but at least I would like to know how much it will cost... |

Surely it will struggle (or perhaps runs slideshow, just wait for benchmarks later) to deliver playable rates on current demanding hits like Crysis but you know what? Most previous years' hits shouldn't be much of a problem.FarCry benchies coming up!!! |
