Boss 1 last question,
What's this?
Grade Category Specialization
G4 B - Building B04 (Kerja-kerja pembinaan bangunan)
G4 CE - Civil Engineering CE21 (Pembinaan kejuruteraan awam)
G4 ME - Mechanical & Electrical Engineering M15 (Kelengkapan mekanikal pelbagai)
Why some reno companies got G4 ME - Mechanical & Electrical Engineering M15 (Kelengkapan mekanikal pelbagai) some only got the Building and Civil Engineering?
Thank you
Well it is self-explanatory though - some big projects (like a whole condo or luxury bungalows) would have their own mechanical/electrical/civil engineers so the reno company must be specialised in all 3 if the project calls for it or if not, a 3rd party company specialised in the said sector has to be called in to work on the project together.
Usually small projects would not involve those engineers (even though I disagree because that’s the proper way of doing things and I have strict requirements for certain things to be done the “right” way).

Bro. The ID I got was CIDB grade 7.
They still did a horrendous job
These grading macam syok sendiri one. No meaning d.
Well it is not foolproof since it merely reduces the chances of kena scam. Next step would be to ask which projects they have worked on and to ask the owners directly about their experience dealing with the said company.
IMO I think a contract is a must nowadays - a clause that says if it is not done within x months, they would have to pay double or something (this is common in China) and with a black and white contract, we can easily fight the case in a court. I think CIDB does provide a template for that.
But I for one would not pick Grade 7 geh unless the construction costs > certain amount (RM5M for eg) because if your budget is kecikmiao (not a jab at you) I don’t think they would do it properly since they are a “big” construction company and would probably not care for small projects and would prioritise projects with higher budget than yours.
