Cheaper and faster?
Can share contacts ah ?

I know house reno by some contractors need to take 2-3 months even though everything need cash upfront.

When I bought my house and did my reno, I was expecting my contractors to focus everyday at my house, but what I got is that they'll go missing a few days, then, come back do a bit and then go missing again.

Residential projects, always face issues like this. Be happy if they come back at all. Seriously too many conman out there. Even landscaper also know how to con now.

That's why you pay contractors by progress claim.

But yes, generally our site progress is very slow...often citing manpower shortage.

Progress claim or not, if they decided to drag the work onsite then nothing much you can do. Hiring another contractor is just another risk altogether.
