re-contract la deiii

just because i preferred my openwrt router doesnt mean i will attack every cheap vendor-locked router out there. good enough mean it is good enough for most users, who cares about the leftover enthusiastic users, they wont be satisfied.

my plan is just good enough for now, the current promo plan is way more expensive than the one I have, so no reason for me to re contract

just sharing my experience from the past, mostly stock router are just plain suxx-see how many users in this forum complaint about them

if u didn't download and mostly streaming. 300 is more than enough already. Streaming on 2-3 devices or 4k on TV also not an issue.
if ur household got more than 6 ppls, maybe only you can feel it. Otherwise 3-5 devices using it at the same time also no problem.

and thats why ISP not being too cheap now. too much vocal netizen out there.
so they give us decent good value for money skyworth, dlink, huawei model now. even to the extend of offering FTTR equipment for people who willing to spend.

are we guaranteed that we could be as good as e-sport top rank player out there with the best router, no right? last time i play online game also kena belasah with player higher than 100ms ping.

anyway for people that using old ISP issued router there, not willing to spend their hard earned cash. just freaking re-contract la.

isnt the premium router like 1k++ is only useful if you subscribe to higher speed?

like if the router stated support up to 5-10gb hz etc but if you only subscribe to 100mbps got use meh? or is it because of the router spec like higher ram, bandwith etc make it useful

from your word, is not like night and day differences. my parent house is 6000sqft house, guess what that TM branded router covers every area, well not like guaranteed  >150mbps on every test, but can still play HD video just fine.

now ISP dont just use the cheapest also you complaining lel.

okay keep on denial ya convince everyone they need to buy after-market router. i think even the like dlink also dont want to bother with b2c model, they rather goes b2b because theres where the money are.
*
i think u are also in denial.

my mom as average user also complaint not getting stable connection at kitchen area. i dont believe her untill i install cctv at the back and notice while the signal indicator is still strong but stability is gone with noticable lag when remote control the cctv. problem solved after i install wifi extender. dont need the speed but i need stability. obviously my parents house is not as big as urs.

if you think isp router is good enough, then go on.
for my case, it is not. and i can feel the difference after switching into a better router.

its good if you frequently transfer large file locally. for most internet use, not so much. wait for the like of TM actually change their equipment to 10GPON then the upgrade will make more sense as you can actually get gigabit speed from paid service via cheap internet access.

like I said before lah

based on what I see, hear, even in this forum, most of the time I think many subscribers suffer these in silent, but dont know what to do

-random disconnects
-unstable connections

some of them dont even know their own user id and password, dunno how to access the url, how to change the pwd, how to change or do the setup on router

why cant they sell better router like what they do with hp? educate lah your subscribers. real pndk these telco. unifi, maxis, time , all the same. real hkc.

apooo cerita pasal router 10 years ago. 10 years ago mana ada isp offer 800mbps for consumer.
you upgrade package to 800mbps unifi will provide new router with 4 antena tu lah. shakehead.gif

bro, i talk about 800mbps bro. if you are using lower than that the isp issued router is good enough.
i have been saying that i feel the different upgrading the speed from 500mbps to 800mbps after i switch to better router.

also just because people are actually satisfied with the router, doesnt mean 100% of them are satisfied.

i downgraded from unifi 800 mbps to 500 mbps last year 2024, when i first subscribed to the 800 mbps unifi like 10 years ago, they gave me a shitty stock router that always disconnect when theres alot of devices connected, and gave me a shit router that cannot fully use the 800 mbps speed, my download speed was trash and never hit the 800 mbps i signed up for

then when i downgraded to 500mbps last year, unifi came to change my routers to a better one and gave me 2 APs, 1 for upstairs and 1 for downstairs, and now the connection is alot more stable than the router TM gave me 10 years ago

ISP already offer better equipment with subscription to the customer that needs it.

people with the problems always the vocal one, the one that is okay/satisfied, diam diam saja.

alot of time people said problem, buffering here and there, slow download speed, but when i ask what kind of resource they are using, they refused to provide. so its make wonder, it is actually the problem with their equipment, ISP or problem with their fishy websites.

i for example admit use pirated content all the time, but many of the forumer here malu2 dont want to admit as people will judge badly on them.

cerita panjang tak guna, apa router model your parents use?

they way you sound, you are tried so hard to justified your expensive purchase. even if the router does limit to 500mbps wireless, it is still freaking usable for most use case.
okay good, now you admit is good enough. next.

+ wifi signal interfere with neighbors's wifi especially when living in high dense kondo.
better router can manage wifi signal effectively to avoid inteference.
