I used to subscribed to 800 mbps Celcom WiFi package.

Previously, I subscribed to 300 mbps package.

However, I don't see any difference at all. Gaming, stream porn, Youtube, Tiktok, live stream all can be done over 300 mbps and it is smooth.

Anyone regretted subscribing to 500 or 800 package where 300 mbps can do the job?

For gaming you are looking for latency not bandwidth

well, the higher speed is obviously suitable if more people are using at the same time

imagine 15 people using at the same time, you might feel the difference

also need to look at the target server

if outside of Asia then good luck playing with 200 ms ping when you're playing competitive game

thats the most possible ping to get even with the shortest latency there is

this. more bandwidth to cater to more IoTs in your home as well.

i'm always under the conclusion that 100Mbps is more than sufficient for the average per person. you can do alot at that speeds provided its consistent.

only very niche groups requires very high speeds unless somehow they remove all forms of digital compression in internet

Depends what you use it for and what server are you using for

For me...u give me 800mbps, I can actually full utilize it...some server, not all
Most server would do fine on 300mbps

unless if you have a big machine server at home, I don't really see the point taking more than 300 mbps. Heck, 100mbps should be more than enough unless household stay with family + heavy watch video usage

I ragrats

Even pay extra RM10 to get 500mbps, totally unstable and speed most of the time less than my previous 300mbps.

Maxis don't want to change the router also. And the top router also lousy one. Dunno how many years already.

depends on usage. if do heavy downloading the extra bandwidth is necessary but if TS do more streaming then you dont fully utilize the 800 mbps. so downgrade to 300mbps will be the correct move.

at home I have 5 users sharing the connection so my 500mbps is sufficient and fully utilized.

I downgraded from 1Gbps to 500Mbps and still feel it's a lot.

Plus all my 4tb x2 full.

gaming is more towards latency la. Cos need exchange data in real time

Streaming/browsing is the connection speed, 300mbps is more than enough to view 4k video.

Anything above 300 is for NAS, at that point upload speed more important than download.

If u want smooth gaming better to invest some $$ for vpn. exitlag works really great the last time i used. support most online games. Easy to use and not expensive. cheapest is to create new account and then sapu the annual package during black friday. Those black friday deals only work on new account, so need register every year.

That's my 2sen la as plebian.
