disadvantage when learning kanji

hahaha really? I have no problem learning Kanji. I have problem with katagana... katagana hates me... I still cannot remember them until now... >"<

i have no problem with all hiragana and katakana..
just kanji poor.. now trying to pick up by learning chinese characters.. hope it will ease me for my coming exam end of this year

You are better off reading some elementary grade Japanese story book then reading Chinese kanji, no? I'll be confused if I read Chinese kanji instead of the Japanese ones we learned.

lol.. i'm not chinese-ed so.. i read all the mandarin characters japanese now >_<

Ahahaha! Same as me! But my mother is Chinese ed so every time I read in Japanese, she'll correct me. So I gave up and read Japanese books instead!

For me its easy to recognize kanji since Im chinese educated.

I guess you can guess the words out if its not japanese edited sound kanji like omoshiroii. Original kanji japanese still ok I think. I guessed alot of
