The screenshot TS posted is the rental rule established a long time ago. Does not look like there is any new change. You could see the same rule in the SST portal related to accommodation section.

it will look like rental increment on landlord side but that money doesn't go to him/her...it goes to the gov

the plan is to introduce a lot of complicated tax, then everyone beh taHan then will ok with GST.

so rent got 8% or not, in the news didn't see also , the rental commission already need to pay 8% jor.

You underestimate LHDN capabilities… this is the most effective efficient dept out of all gov agencies … people working in there are elite and they know where are leakages as well… whether it is the right time to take action only, and they can backdate and tax you with late fee … with AI and Big Data, unless your rent is cash term else hard to run away … your money trail is easily identified if online banking …
