I'm looking for a phone to replace my s21 with budget around 3k. was looking at the s25 for around that price. now i'm considering op13 china rom as the specs seem better. I'm visiting china sometime this year, is it a good idea for me to buy straight from there? is there a lot of things to setup when I bring it back here?

3k here is like 6k over there, if I'm you I will hunt for a bargain Oppo Find N5 instead of a OnePlus over there.

Oh im not really looking for a foldable, though if its really that cheap rm3k then maybe can consider.

Has anyone experienced buying directly from china? Just wanna know if it can be used normally with our sim straight out of the box or is it required to do some tweaking for our optimal use?

Yeah. GMS crash during setup. Similar issue with Pixel running GrapheneOS even with GMS enabled.

Unless OP is going backward in tech evolution, i would say SOT may be improved further.

My OP11 when idle, the screen refresh rate can go down further to 10hz.
IIRC tab s10 ultra does the same thing to save power.

Idle and SOT for op11 is much longer than Op10t, i can do a lot stuff with it vs op10t, my old phones all are charger dependent lol.
Especially banking app sucks a lot of battery juice

you might run into network compatibility issue
CN and international set most likely have different network bands support, international set always support mode bands
plus more CA (Carrier aggregation) bands for LTE-A
and more band for 5GNR, unless you dont really care about them lol

For LTE, 1, 3, 7, 8 are important,
SG and Msia telco mostly support 3, 7 and 3-7 CA, there are other CA but 3-7 is the most common CA
B28 is the newest but my phone is local set, CN set will have different CA

I rather not worry about that. Network compatibility issue is not the deal breaker but rather the other main issues like losing network and app compatibity.

4 hours of sot with 49% balance. Standby is more than 12 hours. This is under full WiFi network and I suppose can last easily till 6-8 hours of sot? Haha

Get an international set for a piece of mind. HK sets are international sets too if you could find them.

At that budget, maybe Nothing phone je. Clean and efficient ROM, like OxygenOS of the past
