My Oneplus 12 CN set working flawlessly like it should. I think it would be a better choice if you wanna save yourself from the headache of tinkering with the OP13 CN on OOS.

Late reply; I flashed an Ace 5 to Oxygen global, can lock the bootloader and pass strong play integrity. Updates by OTA, 5G.

Ciko you really make me heart itchy, understand as well, 8 Elite chips with only RM2.2K ...yesterday when I receive the new delay on my color nord 5... I was take 2 hour to watching the CN set on youtube.. the real problem is I never hands on china ROM. If I can test it on hand, I might be more confident.

Tbh how you use international set is how you use cn rom. The only thing is that you need to turn on app notification manually. International set turn on automatically. All these settings you only need to do once.

Yes, I've received 1 OTA update after conversion. The problem I faced was the region SIM lock.

Flashing method I used - https://github.com/kinginu/Oneplus-Ace5-to-13R I used the global ROM, not Indian.

Usually sellers will unlock region lock before shipping out the phone. Still lock after flashing to OOS?

I only flashed Oxygen ROM, the camera works ok for me, I'm not so bothered about the quality of the photos. If you read the GitHub instructions they flash the camera module but I don't think you can update OTA if you do that?

Yes some do, but I bought from taobao. I think they are rooting and using the Magisk module to set the SIM unlock status. There are paid services to dry the region unlock off.

I screwed up, flashed Oxygen, rooted and region unlocked with the Magisk module, then removed Magisk and locked the bootloader; ending up with a damaged bootloader requiring EDL. End result I have status '0' for the SIM lock and no more region lock messages. Maybe you can root colour os apply the fix and then straightaway flash to Oxygen, or contact oneplus in China with a receipt and request region unlock.

Anyway I paid a total of RM1,160 for the phone, which is good value in my opinion.

Status "0" means the phone is hard locked to a specific network already with no ways of unlocking it with codes. Only option is to send it back to seller and ask if they could help by sending it back to Oneplus China.

The seller usually have some specific codes to remove region lock (the codes are from Oneplus themselves). But it should also work after you flashed to OOS because the earlier region unlock is a permanent unlock.

Unless of course they chose to do it with a different method.

I believe that '0' is SIM region lock is bypassed and it's working fine with a local SIM, no warning message.

My bad for reading your statement wrongly. Status 0 on region lock means no sim lock present. Then it should like like I mentioned that seller has unlocked phone before shipping out the set.
