The Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR) is a federal government department that's responsible for the construction and maintenance of public infrastructure in Malaysia:
A lot of Malaysians join these activities, will assume
1. the organisers must have thought of safety, if not won't organise one 2. the white water rafting operator experienced, sure no problem one
I realized Malaysians don't think much about what could go wrong. They just assumed everyone will do their job well. Everyone will make sure everything is safe. But being in Malaysia for so long they still don't understand how Malaysia works.

The eye opening thing I experienced is one dive operator nonchalantly said a few customers/divers go missing every year in Pulau Lang Tengah under his care. That was in the early 2000s.
please advise your malay female colleagues/family/friends to take off their tudung or wear proper swimming headgear while playing in the water, especially active water like water rafting.
having cloth covering your face during water rafting is like waterboarding. yes, people died during water rafting due to the tudung, not entirely the main cause, but certainly suffocates and drowns faster.

More like think can blame and sue kao the operator. Same shit as motobodo mentality on the road. Don't account for person injured or dead when shit goes wrong.
Certain jobs, especially dealing with forces of nature, cannot have 100% responsibility on operator. Mother nature is just that powerful and unpredictable.

I've always wondered about this safety aspect but not in my place to discuss with them.
Not just that but certain attire naturally increases risk, even non religious ones.

I am definitely on the opposite side of Malaysian thinking then. But if one guy hop into the boat and be like SpongeBob get in meme I will probably go in. But which big brain see that tide and rain and still go in? I am happy I’m with shut in colleagues. Worst they can think of is go hiking.

i guess they signed the consent form before partaking in such activity n briefed abt the risk involved..
Yes they will ask you to sign the consent form, if dont sign cant join. I have done water rafting at this exact river before. It can be super dangerous when raining.
