Hey Alex ~ me too.

I don't usually ask the shops as most shops don't even know what are these things.

The only place I would try would be Ah Hin and Mario Komtar (if the shop still there, as the uncle is knowledgeable).

I normally get my old consoles from garage sale.

For the mod question, you should go to the Nintendo forum and find.. most likely the answer is there.

Hi.

I am new here. I just wonder if anyone of you know have any problem with the PS gamepad. I bought my PS3 3 months ago from a guy name Ah Tat in Gamemaster, Prangin mall, with extra 'China made' gamepad. Incidentally or not, BOTH gamepads broke down 2 weeks ago. The 'fake' gamepad have '1' and '2' lights on when I turned it on, thereby not usable. The original gamepad just wont recharge. I needed to plug it into the USB port to use it. I brought them back to the salesperson for repair. Two weeks later, I was informed both gamepads CANNOT be repaired. I was told they are still under warranty. He refused to replace it. To the salesperson, warranty means 'repair with no charge', and does not mean 'replacement if beyond repair'. What kind of warranty is this?

So Gone are my two gamepads. Anyone have encountered similar problem? I hope other people will be more careful when buying PS3, especially those under 'dodgy warranty'.

sigh - if you have read this thread earlier, i am sure you will go to more trusted sellers. Gamemaster is a BIG NO NO to me.

Added on October 4, 2009, 7:35 amAlso, i am just guessing - even the ori pad you have may not be ori.

That shop (rumors i heard) is good in swapping ori things out from the box and replace it with ahem ones.

Thats true newbie 99, go to the Playstation part of the consoles couch. There is a thread regarding fake PS3 Gamepad. It will help.

And yes, Gamemaster is a big NO NO. Don't ever, ever buy stuff from them, no matter it is accessories, consoles or games.

By the way, if you are still not sure, you can go ahead to post a photo here on your gamepad. Or, you can send it to ACE, Gamemart, Gametech etc just to check. Contact number is on the first page smile.gif

I think Sony Style only got the 80GB versions left...around RM1550. You can swap the hard disk yourself smile.gif.

For 160GB, I know ACE still got at least one SG version for sale. However, that was 3 weeks ago. I am not sure they are still there smile.gif

Added on October 4, 2009, 6:42 pmBy the way, Thanks all for your support on this thread smile.gif. I can't believe it reached 50 pages d.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH and hope for your continuous support.

Thanks Dark NT and Alex13 for the input. I called up the salesperson to convey my disgust over the gamepads. He told me he would discuss it with his boss to replace me with two 'fakes'. What a way to do business! Anyway, I just bought a new gamepad from Sony today.

Hi guys...

Myself just got registered here.

My friend told me this topic is related to me and I came and have a look.

I found there r many of us r on the same boat buying from ACE (Prangin Mall).

I got a Wii from them and it screwed up.

But finally I got it fixed Free Of Charge and no question asked.

I shall share with everyone here as I dont want these to happen to others.

I will post it up here after I take some picts of what I did.....

regarding the case logded on ACE, actually ACE is very careful is advising its customer on what NOT to do with their Wii... i guess it could be a miscommunication between ACE and the buyer... or maybe the buyer is not very familiar with the firmware/mod thing. play pirated is like that lar...

just to share some pricing I talked to Ah Hin (ACE) today

ps2 RM420 (console and 1 ori controller)
ps2 RM520 (above plus 1 non ori controller, 1 non ori mem card, 30 games)
if choose silver or while, add RM20, choose red add RM30.

wii fit (game, board, and something i think to protect the board one) RM330.

my intention was to get a spare ps2 so i din ask other consoles.
*
Mario at midlands selling wht wii fit without the protector for RM250 and even accept card without surcharge
i think can go down a little more if bargain harder

Thanks guys. I will try using a new USB to charge the original DS3. As for the fake origianl, I think the problem lies with Firmware 3.0.
