Wanna check if any one kind enuff to share experience with induction cooker hobs. I am keen to switch from a gas hob to induction hence seeking sharings. My research shows that there is another option ie ceramic. Read the pros and cons of each but wanna get some real experience.

I am looking at the fujioh hybrid hob which has 2 induction cookers and 1 ceramic.

Mod - can't find any such topics in lyn hence posting here. Do move this thread if there is indeed one that is more appropriate. Thanks a lot!

As a person cooks a lot, a gas stove still beats the crap out of induction / infrared, only thing I'll use my side induction is to boil water/soup

Else deep fry, stir fry, searing meat, still gas stove

User of induction + ceramic cooker here for almost 10 years

Pro:-
-No need buy gas anymore. No suddenly cooking alamak gas habis need wait delivery. If no electric, who wanna cook also right. Pergi luar makan

-No gas means no worry of gas leaking or explosion.

-Can set timer.

-Auto off if it detects no water, danger to prevent food from burnt (some models have this features)

-Very portable. Plug and use.

-Easier to clean compared to normal gas stove. Just wipe surface can dy.

-------------

Cons:-
-Food quality is not as good as gas. No wok hei as Chinese call it.

-Need time to get used to induction/ceramic form of cooking.

-Need special induction cookware, not your usual pot/wok can use.

-More expensive to fix if spoilt.

Induction also got levels to it, those cheap ones only got single coil. The better ones got multiple, so can handle different pot sizes and more even heating.

Ceramic is probably the worst, you waste a lot of energy heating a secondary element between the heat source and the target.

Asian home cooking need gas stove for versatility

When I lived oversea using induction a bit hard to adapt using the flat bottomed wok to make ckt. If u cook basic meals den ok la, but for festivities punya size it’s quite difficult

In turns of safety its pretty safe but there are still risks, for example the touch button easy to activate even for animal pawss

Seconded this.

Gas is still the best out of efficiency, while the electric one is for newcomer to start off. Its just a cookertop for gawd sake TS... Get a basic one if you're a newb or saupei degenerates inside the kitchen. Dont ruin everyone's life by being a sohaitard.

Scientist have found that Asian women die of cancer more than other ethnic.

They found the reason to be Asian women use gas stove to cook whilst American white people using electric stove.

This post sums it up.

I've been using 1 for 10 years now at my place. The other con is can't cook when there's a power outage. Need to eat out. Can be a hassle if you live in a condo.

The other thing is only the induction one can detect a dry pot. The ceramic one can't, so you still have to be careful with that.

This is like comparing how an orang asli that cook with charcoal wood will kantoi cancer moar than a white setan that only know how to make grilled steak and boiled veggies or salads can live much longer.

Lifestyle matters. Electric stove might be alright, but they're for the milder user. Imagine Im roasting the roast ducks, charsiews, siewyuks in electric oven instead of gas oven. Habis saupei lolz.

Still come out fine, but that umph is already not there. Just like how Chinese Eggplant compared to the big fat tasteless only got look aubergines here in the UK grocers.

Gei hor you make glass charsiew, roast duck at home... Those go out eat better la, gas stove can't compete with daichow stove anyway

ppl here pakai cheap rm100-200 induction cooker ka? thats why bad impression?

Once i switched to truly induction..I wonder why i did not do so earlier; cleaner, faster, got more kitchen space to put things

CONS, cannot use non-ferrous, and no matter how high end your induction, it wont be as big as your biggest pan, so concentric heating on the coil circumference sahaja...and have to considere new wiring needs.

But still, sbb i have more space, easy clean, nice flat glass top, more space under cabinet since no gas required. And /k pakai s/s (copper clad) and cast iron saja

Thanks for laying this out. Exactly the reason why I am thinking of transitioning.

On the wok hei - we don't do large frying stuff at home hence no issues with that.

if boil soup/water/stew no need induction hud.

more importantly if household has more than 2 ppl, cook morning, dinner, lunch, get hud. otherwise you are just another consumer being fooled by marketing.

Bro, mind sharing what induction are you using? Like I said earlier, I am keen to get the hybrid fujioh with 2 induction and 1 ceramic burner. The ceramic can be used for those claypot etc that can't be used for induction cooking.
